I was looking for an energy efficient lamp that would match my home office decor and this was it. Adjustable color temperatures let you change from a cool white to a warm, light yellow color. The USB power port is handy, too.

If I could give more stars for this lamp, it is certainly worthy of its appraise. Phenomenal quality and attention to detail, very fair in price for what you get. From the "unboxing experience" (nothing to put together here, comes fully assembled and ready-to-use out of the box) to product utilization, it's great all-around. I had picked up a similar style LED desk lamp (different manufacturer, local office supply store) for my home office, and decided to get one for my work office. In my search, I stumbled onto Satechi through another user's review. Glad I found it! And now, instead of sitting in my work office, it's going to be loved here in my home office.

Let me rave/extol the virtues of its great features:

The overall construction of the light is solid. Craftsmanship is very good and, as mentioned before - you can see the attention to detail. It has a heavy-duty power adapter cord with a built in capacitor, and ships for US or EU (e.g., 110 or 220). The touch panel on the base faithfully responds to touch, offering 4 different modes/temperatures: reading, study, relaxing, and bedtime, as well as brightness/dim step settings within *each* mode. (In comparison, my aforementioned LED lamp--now to be demoted to the work office--only offers 1 mode and 5 brightness settings, not to mention I have to find its sweet spot to get an accurate response via touch panel.) The variety of lighting modes pretty much capture the full array of scenarios you'd want a light for.

Light coverage area is very good--mine is being used on a large Ikea two-piece wraparound workstation/desk, and it provides more than ample lighting. The swivel base allows me to orient/redirect light where and when I need it. And, if you've customized your settings, when you turn it off, it remembers the last setting and, when turned on again, uses that last customized setting.

In addition to the light, this comes equipped with a USB input to charge your portable, digital life - e.g., phones, tablets, music players, bluetooth speakers, toys (***COZMO!!*** tried to link it above, wouldn't take it --> https://www.amazon.com/Anki-000-00048-Cozmo/dp/B01GA1298S/ref=pd_ybh_a_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=N9DE7ZK17CCDYH3BSS1M), etc.

Last, but certainly not least, on top of all these features, Satechi's LED lamp is green; it's eco-friendly. That's always a plus. And if that's not enough, it's smart technology can turn itself off after an hour (one of the settings).

I don't recommend many products, but I'd be remiss if I didn't this one, and it comes at the highest level. Besides the functional use, its streamlined design is nice and compact. When it's not being used, fold down the extending arm and you have a minimalistic piece of art. :)

It is much like other LED desk lamps I have EXCEPT it has very useful mode switches. I like bright and clear sun light-style (blue tint) to do my technical work, but my kids hate that setting. They like the milder and redder settings (for example to play piano).

At night, if you want to stay awake, set it to bright sun light-style (high temperature). If you want to read a book or magazine and sleep set this light to its redder settings and before you know you are drooling on your book that is fallen under your face.

(Put away your cell phone one hour before you like to sleep. It takes that long for the effect of its harsh white light to fade away and the lack of blue tells your body its bedtime.)

This lamp is so cool. I am totally in love with it. It's elegant. it has different settings for the light depending on what you need (reading/studying super white, yellow for ambiance/coffe, or totally customizable using the higher or lower light). It also comes with a timer, and all controls are touch so no buttons. In the back it has a USB port where you can just connect any cable (smartphone f.e) and charge from there avoiding one more thing to plug to the wall. There are cheaper similar lamps, but you can see the difference in terms of design. This one is just perfect. BTW, don't worry about changing the LED lights, if you have it on for hours and hours every day it will last you years, so for the price you'll probably buy another lamp by then.

Have been using this desk lamp for about six months now and am very pleased with it. It is very convenient and versatile as it can be used as a low light source beside a computer monitor or as a task lamp for projects on your desk. Very nice design and great touch controls. I quickly became accustomed to having it on my desk and have no problems with it. I find many people to be awfully picky in the reviews here. Anything shiny black will show dust but a quick wipe and it is clean again. People even complain about the dim led that indicates the lamp is plugged in. I personally find it very convenient when I walk into my dark office and a quick tap on the red led and I have light. It would have been desirable for the head to twist but I have found an easy placement in that the long axis is towards my face and tilted down a bit. A small adjustment that is more than compensated for by the overall design and execution of the lamp. I deducted a star because it is made of plastic and although is solid enough, I doubt that it could take any inadvertent abuse. Very handy and worth the price.
