It's very pretty, no problems with the hinges or it closing properly. Has red felt on the inside of the lid and the inside of the bottom. There also was no smell (lacquer?) unless I put my face right into it and inhaled, and it was faint.

Purchased as a gift for my daughter. The box is beautiful. Lined with a red velvet like cloth which I didn't notice originally in the photo. I was going to add some myself but it was unnecessary. They sent a beautiful pair of green jewel earring along with it. She really loved those. The inlay is very well done, gorgeous work and lies flush with the box. The box came well packaged in bubble wrap. I took it all the way to New Zealand to deliver with no damage.

No bubble wrap or bangles included. The description and pictures of the item should be updated.
The item was covered in scratches, did not even seem like a new item. I bought it as a gift. No chance it can be gifted. I returned it.

Lovely box by itself; be aware the bangle doesn't come with it.

Lovely box. Perfect size for jewelry or letters. It closes smoothly and my dad was impressed with how it looked. The bangle wasn't included, which isn't a big deal I guess, but heads up if that's what's influencing your choice of this over other boxes (like me) or you're really digging that bracelet.

I had so great expectations for this box. But after 3 days it's not closing at all, and its parts are falling apart. so saaad.
