Shop no more. This is THE fan!

Bought one 8 years ago and it is still going strong, which is very impressive these days. When we needed 2 more fans for our kids it was a no brainer. We instantly thought of these Bionaire fans. They block out road noise so the kids can sleep uninterupted. And with the different speeds and setting options it becomes the perfect fan for just about anyone. Having all of those features accessible with a remote is even better. Not having to get out of bed to adjust settings or turn it on and off is so nice. I will never buy another fan without a remote. Regrettably we bought larger stand fans of a different brand (also had remotes) awhile back. Despite being larger they did not move the air like this fan and they ended up falling apart within a year.

I waited, for awhile to be able to purchase this item and enjoy it, except for 2 issues. It's noisy and, because of the placement not far from my Rowenta Turbo Silence 16 in. Floor Stand Fan, using the remote for one will trigger the other, powering off/on and fan speeds being the affected modes.
I had no idea it would be so noisy. It's in a room in which I spend a lot of time, on my PC and/or watching tv and movies. This results in a choice between air circulation/cooling and enjoying listening to what I'm watching. I really like the rotating fan grill, however, and the function buttons on the top make it easy to select choices, when I'm standing next to it.
If you don't mind the noise, I think you'll enjoy this fan. However, I find the fan's blowing power isn't equal to the noise created. Good quality construction and stabile - not easily tipped over because of its weight. No separate carrying handle, but you can hold it from the top-rear of the body.

Yes, this fan is loud. Probably too loud if you are buying it just to keep cool. I bought it because my boyfriend needs the fan noise to sleep at night. When he turned it on, he said ," It is music to my ears!"
Be careful when measuring where you think you want to put it. I wanted to put it on a corner shelf and eliminate the floor space of a fan on a stand. According to the measurements it looked like it would fit with the measurements of the corner shelf I also ordered. It was too big. It is tilted back a little and the corner cupboard we ended up buying is just a tad too high( 40 ") and I can't feel the breeze enough while laying in bed.
I love the remote. I will not buy a fan without one. The oscillating isn't as wide a sweep as a fan on a stand.
I love the look of the fan and once I get it on something the right height, we both will be satisfied!
