I have a love hate relationship with this bbq
Samus Aran✓ Verified PurchaseAugust 10, 2017
I've had this bbq for 2 years now. At first I really liked it. I got it for a Prime Day deal. For the price I figured it was worth getting for my first propane bbq.
Pros:
-it was relatively easy to put together, even so I looked up a youtube video to make sure everything was where it should be.
-It's not too big, so it's perfect if you are just cooking for yourself and one other person or a bunch of smaller things like drumsticks.
-Easy to wheel around and move.
Cons:
-Stuff sticks to the grill. I'm sure if I greased my grill before hand that might eliminate the problem, but I'm used to using my charcoal Weber and that is not an issue with that grill.
-It's either off or on. Turn it down low and it turns off. Put it up to medium and it's barely any different than the highest flame setting. So it takes a lot of fine tuning to get the right temp for your meat.
-I've kept the bottom pretty clean, even so, the bottom part tends to catch on fire very quickly. That's right catch on fire! At first I thought it was user error when my husband grilled some steaks on it. He ran in looking for the fire extinguisher, but cooler heads prevailed and I just shut the lid and turned off the propane. Eventually the fire burned out but the steaks were ruined. What little gunk and grease there was in the bottom burned all up, so I figured it wouldn't happen again. Next time I grilled some steaks it did it again! So grease flare ups are a big issue and again, being able to better control the flame height would help with this.
-The grease catch part is just ok. It's a small cup that hangs under an small hole in the bottom. I ended up wedging an aluminum tray in the bottom frame to catch the grease better.

I think I paid around $70 bucks for it. For that price, it's an ok little bbq. I'm happy to have it when I want to grill something real quick and not bother with all the set up for my charcoal grill. However, the number of times it's made my dinner a little more charred than I like, makes me want to leave it on the curb with a free sign on it.
Fire Hazard--Update

We've bought Char-Broil barbecues before and found them to be decent for the money--until now.

This barbecue was bought on Dec. 27, 2015. It worked ok until today. After my husband turned on the gas and lit it (the igniter has never worked), flames immediately shot out underneath the front panel, melting the knobs down to nothing. This area was pre-assembled at the factory and not something that was put together after shipment. Thank heavens my husband was able to shut off the tank before it injured him or caught something else on fire!

Of course, the warranty is only for a year. I'm adding pincures of the area underneath and the front panel. In the first view, it appears that the mesh part inside the tube to one of the burners has pulled away from the tube itself.

Update: My husband called customer service. Apparently spiders got past the spider guard and into the gas line, causing it to back up. Even though we've had the grill for 18 months, this part and the burners are covered under warranty and they'll replace the parts for only the cost of shipping ($4.95).
Pretty great!
Easy setup poor instructions!

First of all the "newer "model of this grill that is listed is not a quickset grill. my Quickset 3 burner grill arrived today. After opening the box the firebox had a dent in one corner. It took me about 90 minutes to put together. I only needed a screwdriver. it was simple to put together. I wish the screws were not black it was hard to see the slots. The manual was not that detailed .
I will update my review when I start grilling. I just heated my grill up to season the grates .It heats up to about 550F you have to be careful
The handle is too hot to touch they did not have enough spacers between the hood and the handle. I finally grilled some chicken breasts
they grilled up just fine. The grates were easy to clean.
Cheap and flimsy but good results are possible.

This is a cheaply made grill that is designed to be thrown out at the end of it's undoubtably short life. Which is sad, because it works (mostly) as advertised. I've been cooking on mine for about 6 months so I'll just go straight into the pros and cons.

Pros:
-Inexpensive
-Easy to set up
-Still lights every time after going through nearly two bottles of gas
-Easy access to the gas bottle
-Upper surface is great for keeping food warm or cooking delicate things
-Replacement parts seem to be relatively inexpensive (on Charbroil's site)
-It looks pretty nice

Cons:
-Flimsy. The axle for the wheels is way too thin and causes the wheels to bow out.
-No proper handle for rolling it around. You have to use the side tray as a sort of handle, and when you do, especially with a full bottle, the whole thing flexes uncomfortably.
-For some reason, this is the only grill I've ever owned (I've had 4 before this one) that likes to drip and leak all over the place. Not designed to be moved, I guess.
-The cooking surface is made of thin steel, and it started to bow downward, forming a definite depression in the middle of each side almost immediately after using the grill. (Hasn't affected the usage, it ust looks weird--and cheap.)
-Uneven cooking! Due to the way this is designed, there is a gas tube that runs the length of the grill that I believe is there to facilitate the lighting of the three burners. This results in much cooler temperatures in about the first third of the cooking surface (i.e.: about the first 4 inches right in front of you). Then because the upper grill covers the back third, you really need to perform some utensil gymnastics in order to utilize the back. So the only ideal cooking surface is the middle third (from front to back). THAT SAID, once you realize this, you can plan your grilling accordingly, and it is kinda useful sometimes when you want to cook the steaks without burning the mushrooms, for instance. It does take some getting used too though, and that's something I don't recall having to deal with in other grills I've owned.

All that aside, I have been able to turn out some quality meals with consistent results during my ownership of this grill. The key is learning where the hot/cool spots are and keeping it as clean as possible. I wish I didn't have to move it since it's so flimsily built, but having said that, it will probably last longer than intended since I keep it in my garage when not in use. At some point I'd like to try to find cast iron grates that fit, and I'll probably end up building a new base because the grill does work, and I like to try to fight the whole "designed obsolescence" thing whenever I can.
Seemed like a good purchase...

I bought this grill to replace my Weber charcoal grill, but have been pretty disappointed with the purchase. The grates started to warp, peel, and rust within a few months after purchase. I used the grill weekly for the first few months. After about 5 months the igniter stopped working. It has taken me a long time to find factory replacement grates (because they have been discontinued), but at $15 a piece (needing 2), I'm not sure if I want to buy them knowing they'll probably have the same fate in a few months.

On the bright-side, the assembly was really easy.
