Not one I'd choose for everyday in the kitchen. But my studio is in a separate building and this has made a quickie lunch or reheating leftovers super simple. I actually love love the simplicity of the dials. It's relief from using my overly complicated and sometimes mysterious non-intuitive kitchen microwave.

No more standing there trying to remember the logic sequences to do something like cook at 50% (seriously my big microwave took me weeks to master this trick it was so far from intuitive) This is instantly understandable and perfect for my use, plus it takes up just a bit of space, which is always at a premium...all other available space it taken over by beads, tools and finished jewelry.

How does one rate a microwave that is cheaply made, but is simple to operate? Our last microwave had 40 buttons and could cook anything. It might as well have been a rubics cube. For someone with dementia, 40 buttons become 40 too many, eventually. Two dials will eventually become trigonometry, but it gives time and some measure of self esteem to those who knew what they were once capable of. As for the microwave itself, it is noisy, hard to see food cooking and produces RF interference. It would be nice to see a quality dial microwave with simplified controls, but this is good enough, and for some of our elderly it's equivalent to an invention such as the light bulb!

UPDATE: One thing I had not considered was the ease of setting cook time to 30 minutes. For someone with dementia, this can be set and forget, while a frozen dinner can literally catch fire. Also, with high temperature of the microwave's contents, the microwave itself can get very hot. In other words, it's a fire hazard! I fashioned a stop to prevent time settings higher than 5 minutes after exactly what I described happened. I suspect the manufacturer and even the retailer may object to that modification, and maybe they would be right to. If there is a "Dementia Ready" microwave, it's not this one.

Nice white color brightens the kitchen. Straightforward dials are fast and convenient and won't get that dented-in scuffed appearance that I hate on electronic button microwaves. Carousal motor isn't very strong but is about what you'd expect for a small modest-powered microwave; this is vest for small platefuls of food or small glass casserole dishes. The "finished" ding is nonobnoxious. I feel very lucky to have found a microwave with these feature. Will update on durability later.

I bought this for my 93 year old Grandmother who suffers from macular degeneration. She had a similar microwave for years that bit the dust. I was in a panic because I was afraid I would not be able to find one with 2 dials and not a lot of technology. Small letters and buttons are her enemy right now, so, the easier, the better. This was absolutely PERFECT for her. She can heat up a cup of coffee, or leftovers without and trouble. She is as happy as a clam with this!!! I'm so glad I was able to find it for her!!!

I just love this microwave oven. Exactly what I wanted. Exactly as described. Small. Simple. No vampire lights. No vampire trickle drain. No blinkies. Just two twist dials. I am a real cook, and prefer heat and flame for most jobs, but often a small microwave is handy for quick tasks, such as heating water or milk, warming a serving plate, reheating risotto. It is a small MW oven, so some items won't fit. If it were a bigger oven, then it would not be a small oven. Don't buy this oven expecting a massive microwave with a dozen presets.
