I ordered the 8 oz milk chocolate coconut egg and it seriously is the best coconut egg I have ever had. I could not seem to find the coconut eggs in the stores this year, so I ordered this one. And it's far superior to anything you will find in a grocery store chain. The chocolate is smooth and creamy, not waxy like a lot of store-bought chocolate can be. And the coconut filling is scrumptious.....you can see and taste the coconut. A lot of the store coconut eggs have a heavy filling with a few specks of coconut here and there. But this egg's filling is chock full of coconut!

I admit, I both loathe and love spring and the onslaught of peanut butter eggs. I am an addict for peanut butter eggs. Growing tired of the mass marketed Reese's product I decided to check Amazon to see what they had to feed my habit. I was not disappointed.
The chocolate on the milk chocolate version is everything that it should be. Smooth and creamy - I kept waiting for the waxy aftertaste but it does not exist. The peanut butter center is the perfect balance between peanutty goodness minus the super sweet overkill.
This my friends, may indeed be the perfect peanut butter egg.
I will have to explore the other offerings by Philadelphia Candies. It has been awhile since I've enjoyed such creamy wonderful chocolate goodness that didn't cost an arm & a leg.

I'm updating this review because I am very impressed with this company's customer service. They definitely cared about my opinion about what I received and the quality of their product. I had another chance to try this egg. This time, my experience was much better and the egg looked exactly like the picture. Overall, I thought that the egg was mild and lightly sweet, with the added texture of fruit, soft nougat, and nuts. The chocolate was much better the second time around and it added the right amount of solidness when eaten with the filling. The filling was much softer and again, the taste was mildly sweet. The nougat is actually not super sweet and the fruit and the nuts really did add a contrast in texture. The flavor was unique depending on which fruit or nut you happen to take a bit of. I was initially pleased with the filling the first time around, just was not happy with the chocolate. I upgraded my review because of overall taste and because the customer service was excellent.

I would have to say that I am slightly disappointed in this purchase. I fell prey to the very effective ad that shows off this egg with the delicious-looking filling. I'm a sucker for fruit cake, so when I saw the picture I thought this would be the best of both worlds since I also have a weakness for nougat. It is one large egg and I wasn't surprised about that. I was, however, very disappointed that the egg did not look like the picture. It came slightly melted and leaking on one side- and streaked. It also had some small cracks. I know that doesn't mean the chocolate is bad, but still. This made me think that this wasn't properly stored and definitely hurt the presentation impression. I didn't order it in excessively high heat and it was on my porch for five minutes. I was impatient and didn't want to go through the hassle of returning it, so I ate it anyway. The taste itself is all right but I don't think it was worth the $ that I paid for it. The chocolate was okay, and the nougat was soft and not very sweet, which I prefer. The nuts and fruit did add a bit of texture and minor sweetness. Overall, the taste was very mild and light and that was good. I probably will go next time to order directly from the company.

This Easter Egg was delicious, big chunks of fruit, whole nuts and cherry nougat. My wife is sitting near me and just said we didn't order enough. This egg reminds me of the wonderful Easter Eggs my Dad would bring home in the 1940s and 1950s. He worked on Arch Street in Philadelphia and took the train. He'd come in the door with an Evening Bulletin and a bag of fantastic Easter candy in the season. This Fruit and Nut Egg equals the taste and appeal of the Easter candy of my youth. Thank you Philadelphia Candies; you deserve a national award.

Loaded with nuts and fruit, this is the egg to buy. The inside was soft, but not too soft, and the fruit was crisp and the nuts were fresh. It is coated in light milk chocolate and it was about a 1/4 inch of chocolate surrounding the soft center. It came in a beautiful box with a plastic window where you could see the see. It arrived in perfect condition. The egg was a little smaller than I would have like so I reordered another one. The shipping was fast. Highly recommend. This is the second year I have purchased this egg from Philadelphia Candies.
