The crimped area was bad. I'm sure I could have returned it
mike turiOctober 14, 2016
I purchased this unit to replace a very old one that was same brand and model. Within the first couple days, it began to leak water out of the stainless braided feed line near the T-valve. The crimped area was bad. I'm sure I could have returned it, and received a replacement, but with the time it would have taken to do that, I chose to just order the replacement line and have it rush shipped to my office. Installed the new line, and it was good to go......for a week. It began to leak at the exact same place. Obviously there is a quality issue with the supplier of this line. The crimped area is weak, and will not hold to normal water pressure. Instead of going through all this again, I chose to cut the crimped area off and replace it with a barbed fitting and clamps. No more leaks, but a lot of wasted time on a new item.
Other than that, its a good coffee maker. Hopefully I won't see more issues with it.

Here it is 8 months later. The heating switch has started to malfunction. It will either not heat at all, or over heat and boil the water out onto the counter. I have adjusted the temp and it will work ok for a week, then act up again. Just ordered a different brand coffee maker, and I will see how the company handles repairing this unit.
