You'll get the network channels with clear reception and a few others that I don't watch like QVC and Spanish language stations, so for $30 it's worth it to get some sports and local news.

Update. Initially I was running a channel scan every day or two because of interference and the picture breaking up so I hung it outside of the window on the exterior wall with tape and presto, much better result and I get several more channels. It is under the roof overhang but I don't think a little rain can hurt it anyway. (Maybe the metal roof something to do with the interference).
So happy cutting the cable!

I get all the major networks plus several of the local channels and a couple of really interesting channels: The Buzzr Network which only shows vintage game shows, some as old as the early 50's! Fascinating to see how people have changed and how game shows have changed over the years. The other is Decades which is a network that focused on historical events one decade at a time, but the really good part is that Decades shows Laugh-In twice a day, every day, and they have the Dick Cavett show where he interviews some of the most important people of his time, an awesome, awesome show.
Oh, yeah, antenna works great, easy to place, etc.
Works well, picks up more stations
Leo P.✓ Verified PurchaseApril 23, 2017
Works well, picks up more stations. Picks up way more than unamplified. The picture is great. Cable uses compressed signal. This receives uncompressed HD transmitted signal. I have several TV's connected thru splitters and all work great. As long as your TV has a coaxial cable connection this hooks up directly. If yours only has HDMI, you need a converter box.

Pays for itself in a few months.
Better than Mohu Leaf 30
Art✓ Verified PurchaseMarch 27, 2017
It was marginally better than the Mohu Leaf 30 antenna and has a much longer cable, price a bit lower .

I did an A-B comparison, the Flatwave had 3 additional channels. Test done in fog, the TV repeater station is about 5 miles away, but the
signal has to through a large window, and 2 interior walls to reach the TV and Antenna location on the opposite side of the house.

HOWEVER we are now moved to a new location with the TV relay station on a nearby mountain also about 5 miles away, and with heavy tree cover. It did not work so great -some stations that worked were breaking up, and others were just absent. The "4 Element Bowtie Indoor/Outdoor HDTV Antenna - 60", which on the other side of the patio door and about 2-3ft higher is vastly superior, and of course 2X the price. I returned the Flatwave.
Works good but antenna location / placement is important
Super Dave✓ Verified PurchaseMarch 3, 2017
I believe this is a very good antenna but location of the antenna is pretty critical or at least it was for me. Most of my stations are about 50 miles north of me. When I hooked it up I tried different locations for the antenna. On the north wall which is an inside wall that had a room on the other side, laying down, mounted on my east window and even between the east window and outside screen. For the most part I got 0 stations. Even though I didn't get anything when it was mounted on the east windows I did get two stations with it laying on the back of the chair by the east windows. Unfortunately the signal was just not strong enough to get a good constant picture.

I then moved the antenna to my master bedroom which has a patio door facing the north. Hooked it up to a different TV and got 14 solid channels. After the scan I unplugged the amp just to see if it made a difference and it does as all the channels dropped off. I don't watch a lot of TV in the bedroom so this antenna will not work for me in the living room and I'll have to look at getting an outside antenna and use the existing Direct TV cabling. So I think this is a good antenna and it does work but I didn't have much luck unless it was pointed in the direction of the tv stations.

There was a video I watched about HDTV antennas and the creator claimed some TVs have better receivers than other TVs. This could have been the issue too. The TV that got 0 stations is a 70" Sony and the other one was a 32 Visio. Also I have a metal roof and I know this can really affect reception if you have an antenna mounted in the attic but not sure if would have that much affect on this kind of antenna.

All in all I'm happy with the product but will still have to look for a different solution.
