Naturally Fresh Cat Litter - Walnut-Based Quick-Clumping Kitty Litter, Unscented, Multi-Cat, 14 lb

Key features
- •An exclusive cat litter formula made from the fibrous material of the walnut shell, Naturally Fresh neutralizes litter box odors better than clay, pine, corn, and wheat litters.
- •Because Naturally Fresh is proven to absorb 3x better, one bag is equal to three bags of the leading clay litter. Our super-absorbent formula produces tight clumps in as little as 15 minutes, making cleanup easy and mess-free.
- •Unlike clay litters that throw off silica dust, Naturally Fresh is silica dust-free so you and your cat kid can breathe easy. It also doesn't stick to your cat's paws, so litter won't be tracked through your home.
- •All natural and 100% biodegradable, Naturally Fresh is made from walnut shells, an annually renewable, non-food agricultural product.
- •Made without any harmful ingredients, Naturally Fresh is safe for you, your cat kid, and the environment.

Dustier than other walnut litter! Still much better than clay.

The version of this product that's available on Amazon is so dusty!
I fell in love with BLUE walnut litter when I started buying it in person at a specialty pet store, but the markup at that store was way too high so I was excited when I found it on Amazon.
For the most part, this version is the same as the ones I found in the store. Except that the one that I found in the store was a purple bag (no, it wasn't the pellets, it was proper litter) and it wasn't nearly as dusty or as fine as the one on Amazon. The Amazon version is super dusty, and the granules are very fine. I can't figure out why. I would happily give 5 stars if it wasn't this dusty.
That aside, this walnut litter is still vastly superior to regular clay litter. It is much dustier than other version of BLUE walnut litter, but it is still less dusty than clay. Better still, it lasts for an entire month (or longer) before it needs replacing. And, best of all, it doesn't smell! I've gone through regular clay litter (terrible), grass litter (pretty good), and walnut litter was by far the best in terms of odor-management. I never smell the litter box after my cat has finished his business (and, let me tell you, I have a VERY good nose).
Walnut litter is also several times more absorbent than clay (or grass). I sometimes find that my cat's droppings are so desiccated that the clumps sometimes fall apart or break in half.
If you hate the dust, try grass litter.

Grows mold in a few days.

I so wanted to love it. Transition from pine pellet litter (discontinued by manufacturer) went smoothly. Two cats, three litter boxes. Scoop poo and sift fresh litter to the top daily. No odor to the litter. Fantastic odor control. MOLD! All three litterboxes once transitioned to 100% Naturally Fresh grew mold in under a week. Toxic and vile. Poor kitties. Unfortunately, it's Sunday night and everything is closed. Can't get new litter until tomorrow. Scooped all of the moldy litter out, at least, and there is enough of a shallow layer in there for them to use if needed.
horrible at best

I did not like this litter, nor did my kitties. It is dark brown pellets that soak up the pee okay, but then they would break down into a brown dirt / mud like consistency that is next to impossible to separate from the 'clean' pellets. It made a mess when the cats left the litter box with the brown broken down litter sticking to their paws and strewing itself across the floor. The cats did not like this on their paws and would flip / flick their paws to get it off. Some of the broken down litter would fall threw to the pad underneath. It was hard to clean and hard to keep from making a complete mess out of the whole thing.
All in all, I gave this litter 1 star. I only used it one round in two litter boxes. I did not throw it away, but put it to the back of my storage area thinking that maybe one day I would find myself without my usual litters pellets and HAVE to use this stuff again. Not a pleasant thought.

i have 13 cats in my house. 13. let that sink in.
i foster animals for the humane society, and after using every litter i could get my hands on, my house still smelled of pee within 3 days of changing litter. no amount of baking soda, scooping, air freshers or anything worked. YOU CANNOT SMELL THIS. unless you have the nose of a bloodhound or pregnant woman, you will not smell cat litter or cat waste when you use this. it absorbs the smell. a litterbox sits next to my toilet. i can't smell it even while on the toilet. my husband who smokes can't even smell it then. My house, with 13 cats, has NO CAT SMELL. there is no dust. it's light. it clumps so much better than anything I've ever used. it pours like coffee grounds and there is no dust. perfect for my asthmatic family members. i am never going back. YOU NEED THIS. I NEEDED THIS THE WHOLE TIME.

Dustiest litter I've ever used. Stay away if dust is an issue for you!

Dustiest litter I've ever used. Just watch the sequence of photos to see how the dust rises and clouds the camera. Also notice the dust on the shelf on the top this is all from this litter. Terrible that they can advertise this as nearly dust free. Both my cats and I have to breathe and all this dust.
