New ballast
bri mulder✓ Verified Purchase•February 1, 2024
My aquarium light fell in my tank a few days ago so I went to dry everything out by taking it apart. I noticed that my old ballast was all corroded and a fire hazard. Instead of spending 50 bucks for a new light fixture I decided to just replace the ballast. As someone with no electricity knowledge I was able to take it apart and re wire the new one in pretty easily. Works just like knew and I couldn't be happier.
Ot works and was correct part. Fit aquarium hood

This was a replacement ballast for a fish tank hood. A new hood was like $75. Figured since I got switches that worked I may as well try replacing the ballast this time. It was easy enought to install. Works well. Saved a ton of money over a new hood. Recommend to anyone
Works well

Make sure you have wire nuts or crimps to splice the wires also make sure to buy the tomb stones just in case the ones you have are bad. This will save you over 50 bucks rather than buying an entire unit for your pets cage.
works as long as you can splice wires

looked just like the one I needed to replace, but I was surprised there were no connectors for the light bulb.
Old model

These are "new" as in they were never used, however the manufacture date on the ones I received are from 2008.
And value for money is 2 stars because I found the similar item at a big hardware store for ~ $9 vs. the ~$13 here.
