Great item....others have complained that the top does not attach like an ink pen top but it does have a loop on the top to tye a ribbon on to keep up with it. I will be buying another one to put in my travel sewing kit.
I do like these, the only thing I would like it ...

I do like these, the only thing I would like it do is that once you pull it apart you are left with two ends, one does not fit in the other like the top of a pen would. So you have a short handle to hold. If they fit together it would make it easier to hold, but it does work well otherwise.
