While I am not a big review writer, I did write a review about this flat iron. Wow! What a mistake I made. I am so very sorry to have mistaken the flat iron that I previously owned before, this one to make a bad review on this iron. EVERYTHING that I wrote in my review applies to the old flat iron. I just realized my mistake. THIS flat iron is the real deal and is absolutely Awesome!!

Surprisingly great product - cheap plastic and weird smell

This product surprised me. It flattened my hair, but not to the point where I lost volume. It was smooth, had volume, and shine. I havent used it long enough to assess whether it damages my hair. However, the one drawback is that there is a very strange smell coming from the plates. I thought maybe it was burned hair smell, but my hair doesn't smell but it happens even when I am not applying it to my hair. So, I deducted 1 star for the very strong weird smell. I dont expect it to last very long because it is very cheap flimsy plastic, not the quality of a good Chi.
