Might have green hue
G. Friedman✓ Verified Purchase•November 22, 2017
Works well and color looks natural for the most part. However, I did have a application wear it gave my beard a slight green hue. That only happened once, but not a good look. It takes about 2 hours to work for first application and 45 minutes for maintenance applications. No burning, but the green hue turned me off and I am back to "Just for Men". It does smell a bit strange, did not bother me, but some might be put off.
Creepy Red

This light brown dye turned my hair deep red. The directions say to leave it on for 1.5-3 hours, I had it in for 2. I was able to fade it slightly with repeated washing. Thankfully I decided not to use it on my beard.
I just gave myself a short haircut. Fortunately it looks closer to normal now, 'cept I'm not a natural redhead.
The whole point was just to tone down my shiny silver-gray. It says on the package that it covers gray. Well, I guess it does....cover the gray with clown-red.

More effort, but worth it.

WHY - I ordered this product because I was unhappy with the color selection of Just for Beards, and I was unhappy with the way JFB made my skin itchy and flaky. There is no itching and flaking with Henna. In fact, it kinda feels like I've applied a softening conditioner to my beard.
HOW - The application process takes a lot more time and patience than JFB. My process involves rubber gloves, a towel, and the handy brush applicator from my old JFB box - unfortunately Manley Guy doesn't provide an application brush. I use about HALF of what the directions say and mix it with hot water like I'm making mortar or grout (that will make sense to some people). Apply a LITTLE at a time, building it up in layers over the whole beard. If you go too quickly or apply too heavily, you'll just get blobs of henna that will fall and stain whatever they land on. I've used a pinch of salt, and not used the pinch - Not sure yet if it makes a difference. Once coated, I sit around in front of the computer, like now, for about an hour.
WHAT - I'm still experimenting with color, but I will agree the result is a bit like Lucille Ball (reddish orange). I started with the light red and am working down from there. Currently, I follow up the application with a quick JFB application which tones down the orange and makes the beard look a lot like my original color. The result lasts about 2 weeks for me. I'll be trying dark red next and hopefully will have an update after that.

Works well but require planning

This product works well. It is the only color for my bread that I can use without a reaction. I used Just for Men for years without a problem then one day I just development a nasty reaction. Tried a couple more times and tried with a second product that was suppose to be better for sensitive skin, but I still had a reaction. I've completely switched to henna products and they mostly work but you have to follow the directions as given. The only con is the time. With Just for Men, the entire process only took around 10 minutes and I was ready to step outside immediately afterwards. I have to leave the henna product on at least a hour and a half for my beard. Time varies by the nature of your hair. Plus its as a slight greenish tint immediately afterwards but it fades within a hour or so. However, this means that I have to take the time in plan. No more dying my bread just before I go out to dinner or before work in the morning.
Gets the job done with no irritation.

After struggling with side reactions from just for men I thought there was no hope. Then I came across this product. I was amazed at the results. I was able to match my color and not have to worry about chemical burns or reactions. I find it does take a little more work than just for men but once you have it figured out, the results are great. I tend to leave it on 30 to 60 minutes and cover it with plastic wrap and have found that to work best for me. I highly recommend you give it a shot.
