I got my pole lamp today. I was so excited to finally have light in my dark corner. So, I put it together to have a unbelieveably cockamamie tilting pole lamp that I can't believe passed Quality Control inspection at Light Accents end. If it were not behind a table to hide the 8 pieces of cardboard of various thicknesses needed to give the illusion that this $44 lamp is straight, and the black tape I had to use to hide the gap that a partial screwing down revealed because it is IMPOSSIBLE to screw defective toolings that should have been caught in the factory. If it were not for the trouble it took trying to make it appear straight when this wobbly hidiously tilting thing absolutely cannot ever be...I'd take it apart and put it in a bag and send the damn thing back. There are 4 poles. From top to bottom, ABC&D. The male threads on the top of the bottom pole are so tilted to the side that it is abolutely IMPOSSIBLE to screw down the next pole straight. The threads on the first bottom pole are actually tipped FAR to the side. TERRIBLE manufacturing. It's so obvious that it's pure laziness and unattentiveness that it was missed in the factory. I am SOOOO pissed I spent this much money on this stupid looking thing, and had to rip the box up trying to get the thing out of it AND THEN to find out it is horribly crooked. I will never buy another thing from Light Accent ever again. I'm over it. I feel ripped off. I guess they sell their crap seconds that can't be sold in a walk in store on the internet. This thing doesn't even belong in a yard sale.

I've been a machinist for 20 years so I'm incredibly attentive to detail. These are adequately made to do the job and they are priced right for what you get. The fit and finish is a little wonky but nothing noticeable outside the 6 foot range. Everything on earth has a tolerance and it depends on an items usage to determine what tolerance is acceptable. These do not have to have a .005 tolerance to do the job. You're not going to be standing and staring at these things up close more than a couple times lol They are really awesome with my philips hue or I'd imagine any ambient lighting system. Placed beside my ambient lit 4k hdr screen the screens backlighting is also amplified through this ricepaper like material. It looks freaking amazing. Not bad guys.

I sent it back because the lamp shade is fixed at the top and pretty much uses gravity to extend the shade to the bottom. The problem is the paper shade is so light weight that the shade pulls up and rests against the light receptacle. The angle of the shade as it bows outward does not give enough room to clear the bulb so the PAPER shade sits on the light bulb which even the energy efficient bulbs get HOT thus making this a real fire hazard. Would look nice but poor design due to lack of ability to fix the bottom of the shade in place where it belongs which would probably take care of the shade touching the bulb.

I like this style of floor lamp. I put five candelabra style, 40-watt equivalent LED bulbs in this and it throws off plenty of light. With the adjustable arms, it can be customized to fill any room with light. Three of my bedrooms do not have overhead fixtures so this is just the ticket for generally lighting up these areas.

I originally bought this for my living room but it wasn't exactly what I wanted for the living room. I decided to get table lamps for that room. One night my husband and I decided to put THIS lamp in our room and it's so much better than our ceiling light. Our ceiling light is too bright, it irritates our eyes. This was a nice glow without sacrificing lighted area or our eyes. When evening comes, we like to turn this light on (2 light bulbs) and it gives us all the light we need. Bonus: since the arms are moveable, I can just turn on 2 and work at my desk without having to wake my husband. This was a better buy than I had thought:)
