terrible thin sound and questionable build quality
Jeremy BurkeMay 17, 2016
Oh boy, where do I start...
I guess I'll start with saying that a "friend" recommended this microphone to me and I've hated ever since.

This microphone is very poor sounding. It has absolutely no body and makes everyone and everything your record in it sounds thin, distant, and frail. Not to mention it also boosts sibilance and nasal frequencies, which sounds gross. I've tried it on 2 males and a female and gave up at that point because I was convince it wasn't working for anyone. period.
The microphone's body creaks and even though it's made of solid metal the actual design isn't that great. It's looks and "feels" good (the paint does) but the actual construction feels like it's not build to last.

The metal pop filter is very thin and resonates when you use it, do it adds a high frequency ring whenever a plosive passes through it. Even with that pops/plosives still pass right through it making it useless at it's job.

The shock-mount leans in either direction no matter what you do to make it straight. It's also made from some of the cheapest feeling plastic I've ever placed my hands on and I wouldn't trust it's longevity. I wouldn't suggest using it upside-down either.

The XLR cable is alright, those either work or they don't.

All in all I wouldn't suggest this microphone to anyone, there are cheaper mics that sound the same or better for much less, not even mentioning similar priced alternatives.
