Pyrex = quality not other glass containers come close

I bought a second one of these as Target etc all seem to be sold out of the large 6 cup containers. For me I find the size essential for my style of meal prepping - making a whole weeks worth of bolognese sauce or a chicken curry. What I love about glass in general is it's inertness, as I still have plastic containers but I don't like to put hot, fatty and staining meals in them. This glass won't end up forever yellow because I put curry in it once. Finally- it's Pyrex making it quite strong glass, able to handle hot food, microwave, dishwasher, and even bake in the oven. I also like that the lids, with the silicon gaskets are liquid proof- you can store these things upside down - or if weight wasn't a factor use as lunch boxes.
Goodbye plastic.... Hello glass!

I originally purchased a similar set at Costco, looking to replace a plastic set. My wife said the plastic had to go, too much trouble heating up food as the food is not recommended to be heated in the microwave in plastic. I loved my plastic tupperware, so the glass set was just to appease her. Sure enough now all the plastic is gone and a second glass set took its place. These seal as well as the plastic, I was concerned they would not. It does seem these are a bit smaller in volume but overall very similar. The downside is they are heavier and they are glass, so toddler playing with them is a bit different. I was reluctant at first but the change from plastic to glass has grown on me

Bought these about 6 months to a year ago. We love the thick, durable glass, great fitting spill/leak-proof lid and the large capacity of these Pyrex Snapware containers. This size is perfect for leftover partial casseroles and such. I had also purchased a different brand of glass container with locking lids and found these to be better fit across the board, even though the other brand was okay, Snapware has perfect fit and easy to use/clean.
Note, with this type of container, I rarely use the lids in the dishwasher or microwave, even though they CAN be used that way and hold up reasonably well with the one I did, I want to maximize their lifespan by not subjecting them to any heat.

I have given away all my other food storage for the fridge. These are great. I can cook in the 6 cup and store leftovers in the very same container in the fridge. I can make casseroles for 2 or 4 in the 4 or 6 cup ones and store them in the freezer in neat little stacks then cook them in the same container. I have 3 of each size in this set (1 c, 4 c, 6 c) as well as 3 of the 4c I bought separately. It is all the storage outside the pantry my family of 5 needs. I have had these for over two years and have had no stains. A few marks remain from old labels (permanent marker right on the lid almost always wipes off) and none have been broken even with seven and eight year old boys doing the dishes. My favorite part is that they all stack up together so I only use 1 shelf in my cabinet and not the entire cabinet busting with plastic things I could never find the lids for that I used to have!

Purchased this container to safely (chemical free container) store homemade soup in the freezer because stacking containers are easier to organizer in the freezer space. I have had containers like this before and they were not liquid leakproof but thought I'd try this type again based on reviews to see if this one was. It is not. Immediately after receiving this I washed it, filled it with water and tipped it to each side and water did heavily drip out the sides. I kept the container because it will work fine for liquid transport from counter to freezer and back and the size it good for 2 large or 3 medium meal portions. I do not recommend if you need a guaranteed leak proof container, but fine for a chemical free food storage container with otherwise.
