My alar, was triggered a few days ago. I walked in to my security company talking through the speaker which kept cutting out. I could not verify who I was and they had to call to verify my identity.
The touch panel is capacitive so it's a bit of a pain, but we just use the app. I installed the AT&T GSM Z-Wave module when I first received the unit. This module is a perfect compliment as I'm able to control lights, locks, and thermostat. It has the ability to work with my cameras but I chose not to implement these designs. It does work with my garage door, so that's pretty awesome.

The system works great most of the time. I purchased this elsewhere for DIY monitoring and purchased door and window sensors and image sensors. Be aware that although marketing implies that you can easily have the alarm.com monitoring done through multiple companies, this is misleading. You own the equipment, but the access to the app which controls the system is only available through dealers who charge monthly fees for that access. This does not include any kind of monitoring or special services - app access and control only. Only a few dealers offer this access and most want to sell you more or different equipment. The access in most cases is $29.99 or more.

After opening I noticed the screen was scratched, looks used, but works fine. Also, two of the wireless door contacts were defective.
