This quilt rack was perfect for me. I ordered the fruitwood color as I have a lot of Amish built oak furniture in my living/dining room area and this goes well with it. I particularly like that I did not have to sew a rod pocket onto my quilt to display it. It was easy to apply to the wall. I used a piece of adding machine tape the length of the rod and just marked it where the screw holes needed to be. I then used painters tape to attach the adding machine tape to my wall to measure and position it properly. Once we marked where the screw holes needed to be, it was easy to screw them in leaving them out far enough to lift the back of the rack onto them. We did put the quilt in the frame before hanging the rack back on the wall. Since I change my quilts for display once in a while, I think it will be easier to remove the rack each time I want to change the quilt and then rehang it with the new quilt. I plan to buy more of these racks in different lengths to hang more quilts in my sewing room. I really like the way the quilt hangs close to the wall rather than being out several inches as with quilts racks that require rod pockets.

This is beautifully made and my quilt is hanging up splendidly. The reason I gave it a "three" for easy to install is that if I had to find studs that matched the holes, it was very difficult to find them. Also, the person who hung this quilt may have been a bit more precise than most people. However, it is a beautiful way to display my beautiful quilt.

The only change I'd make is maybe two more grooves in case the mounting place doesn't fit for the preset grooves!
My hubby had to re-measure twice but then hit it right on to get the screws even with the grooves. WE put the heavy hand loomed wool Jorado (sp?) type serape on steroids that an exchange student from Mexico gave us for having her for several weeks one summer over 35 yrs ago. Every dry cleaner raves about it--but it fit with us both working on it at the same time and the tighteners worked great to hold the weight! IT is top workmanship and a great way to hang something valuable without hurting the rug (item). I would recommend it to a friend for sure!

This is an excellent rug hanger. I got the 36" black/ebony version. I noted in some earlier reviews there was frustration with affixing the hanger with installed rug to the wall. It can be relatively simple if one follows steps something like this: 1) Unscrew the knobs that hold the two wood pieces of the hanger together; 2) Take the bottom wood piece that goes against the wall and turn it over so you can see the slots that have been routed into the back to accept the wall screws; 3) Take a long strip of wood (say an old yard stick for a 36" hanger) or long strip of paper and lay it over the back of the bottom piece as a template; 4) Carefully mark on your template the top center locations of the routed screw holder indentations; 5) Place the template on the wall in the location where you want to hang the rung and carefully make marks on the wall that correspond to the marked routed screw holder indentations on the template; 6) Install the screws on the wall at the marks you just made (if you are mounting the hanger on drywall consider using dry wall anchors unless you are sure there is a wall stud beneath the dry wall surface); 7 ) On a horizontal surface mount your rug between the two wood hanger pieces and reinstall the knobs; 8) Move your completed rug and hanger combination to the wall and emplace on the screws you put in the wall. Enjoy your wall mounted piece of art!

Craftsmanship of Amish products is the best. Worked great for hanging a valued quilt.
