My husband was switched by his supplier to this meter early last winter (2017) because "they said" they could no longer get the supplies for his old meter. As soon as he switched his readings started into the mid to high 200's. He had always been able to maintain his desired target of below 200. We ate very strictly. Nothing he did changed the readings. They sent us 3 meters in total and all had the same results. As a last resort he bumped his insulin from 15 to 16 units with only a very small reduction in his readings. The first week of May he switched back to the meter he had been using and his numbers dropped back to where they had been. He dropped his insulin back to the original amount and the readings stayed in the mid 100's. He could have had a dangerous sugar low and wouldn't have known it was coming until it hit him! My blood sugar is very normal. I used myself as a barometer and checked myself. My readings never came back below 110 and usually were in the 120's. With the new meter I am once again testing in the low 80's. I would never recommend this meter!
