This is a super nice multi-purpose mat. It's thick and wide for a larger person or two smaller people if snuggling close on the floor in a house or camping on the ground. The mat is soft and cushiony to the touch but more firm when laying on it. Which is still great if you are sleeping on a hard and rocky ground. Like another reviewer on here stated, just buy a soft foam a few inches thick if you want it softer for guests. Don't forget a nice comfy pillow.
