I was skeptical with the new version but our kids (8 and 6) love it. It teaches some basic life lessons such as if you go to college, you'll make more money. Having grown up playing the original, I wasn't sure how well this one would work out but it turned out to be just as fun. Only problem is the wheel isn't great and doesn't spin smoothly. The cardboard flat surface which has the numbers and colors started warping and moving so i had to tape it to the side of the wheel. Probably would be easier just to have a ten sided dice.

This game is similar to the one my brother and I had growing up. However, it is different enough where I want the one we had. My son got this game for Christmas and he loves it and has become one of his favorite games. I however, am left unsatisfied for that nostalgia feel.

For us, we haven't had any problem with the little people fitting and staying in their assigned wholes. They fit and stay just fine for us. Also, the spinner works perfectly.

I do like some of the new career choices to pick from as well. I always wanted to be a Fashion Designer when I was a kid and now if I chose I can be in this game. However, I wouldn't choose it because of how low-level the pay is.

Other than the fact, that it is a little different from The Game of Life I had growing up, it is still a fun game for the entire family. us. Also, the spinner works perfectly.

Bought this for my 11 year old son to play. We opened it once, and he spun the spinner and said, it didn't spin good. We messed with it and put some tube o Lube Graphite from his Pinewood Derby Car days on it, and this spinner spins like the Indy 500 baby. We were so proud of that, we never played the game.

Then a week later, he wanted to play again. I got him. HA!

In order to enjoy this game do not compare it to the original one. My kids (ages 6 and 9) love this game. They love a lot of the newer aspects like the different careers, the night school option to get a new career and the family path that gives more opportunities for having babies. The action cards are fun because some of them have start family conversation which is fun. One says "You started a band" (you either earn some money or have to pay for starting the band I forgot) and then it says what instruments does everyone play? Those questions just add to the fun. There are only a couple cons in my opinion. I am sad it is only 4 players and not 6. If you choose not to go to college you are probably not going to win. The jobs without college make $70,000 or less and the college jobs make $80,000-$120,000 or $130,000. I wish there was more of a chance for a career without college to make more money. I do miss the car and house insurances too! Overall it is a very fun game and my kids love to play it over and over again.
