Great toy, as are all of Grimm's Spiel and Holz Design. My 3 year old daughter uses them a lot. Love the way they allow open ended game. Have a lot of other toys from this brand and love them all! The good quality of the materials makes them last very long. Colors don't fade either.

I debated this one for a long time given what I think is the ridiculously high price point on Grimm wooden toys. However, Amazon recently had it for a fairly good price and so I splurged. Did it change our lives? No. However, I love them. They are incorporated into all types of play. They are great for color recognition and counting. They look beautiful with our other Grimm blocks. And for some reason, my son gravitates to these more than any other little people we have. Would definitely buy again.

I love that this toy is open ended and is non toxic paint and untreated wood. That being said, I feel it could use multiple skin tones instead of just white & even though the paint is non toxic it had a pretty strong odor the first three days of getting it and airing it out.
Son’s Favorite Toy

Of the one gazillion toys my five-month-old has these are by far his favorite. They're perfectly sized for his little hands to grasp and he loves cramming them in his mouth or clanging them together. His favorite game is knocking them all over before I can finish setting them up.
Pricy but worth it

I had to really justify to my husband buying this for our 3-year-old daughter for Christmas. They look like the Amish version of fisher price's little people and the price for 12 little pieces of wood was pretty substantial for us. It turns out that she loves them and they are a great learning tool. She uses them to practice counting and we are showing her how multiplication works with them. It's neat how entertained she is by such a low-tech toy. If you're on the fence because of the expense, I'd say go for it!
