I bought this item as I need a timer that can do 10 time controls on my thermostat per weekday. I am still testing it but my concerns are ease of programming and accuracy.
Contrary to some reviews, I found the timer to be easy to program. Perhaps the video that is posted with the description wasn't available at that time. The video is very educational and useful.
I'm presently testing the item for accuracy and will post an update after I run it for a week or so. For me, accuracy is finding that the clock is accurate and stable. I might add that I did quite a bit of research and this product was amazingly affordable. I will update this review after I do further clock accuracy tests.
I need this timer to control my thermostat with five on/off cycles per weekday. I basically use it as a load controller to control my thermostat. Nobody makes a thermostat that can be controlled by the minute. Because my electric utility charges $17.44 per Kw of demand, calculated hourly, and my A/c plus vampire loads equals in excess of 6 Kw, I need to limit the A/C to 15 minutes per hour during the Demand time. If you don't understand, it just means I run my A/C for 15 minutes per hour between 3 PM and 8 PM.
The accuracy of the clock was important as was ease of programming. This device has an accurate clock and appears to be very dependable in it's execution of schedules. I give it 5 stars for my application. Also I found it very east to program. I did a lot of searching to find this product and I'm very happy with it. I have no connection to the manufacturer and this is my honest opinion.

The setup isn't too bad, if you're used to dealing with consumer electronics ...

It works just as advertised. You tell it your latitude and it estimates when sunrise and sunset is throughout the year. You can give it an offset from its calculated times; since it doesn't know where you are in your time zone you probably want to use this feature. I have on set for 20 mins after sunset and off set for 10 mins before sunrise. The setup isn't too bad, if you're used to dealing with consumer electronics you can figure this out just fine. The manual is adequate at best but leave some things up to the user to figure out. There are plenty of other modes including a one-button override (switches off if on, and on if off) and a full manual mode. It automatically adjusts for daylight savings time. I like this unit a lot and it saved a bunch of money and frustration over dealing with a photocell. Highly recommended.
Great Timer!

I bought this timer to control 120 volt landscape lighting. I didn't want to keep changing the "on" time to keep up with sunset changes during the year, so the astronomical event programming was important to me. In my case, I wanted the lights to come on at sunset and turn off at 11:00PM. Programming is easy...I recommend following the video instead of the written instructions. The company's online wiring diagram video is not specific to the EWZ120, as it shows only 4 wire lugs. The EWZ120 has 5 lugs. Be sure to consult the schematic on the door of the timer.
