This is just the best pump ever. I got an S2 for free from my insurance. Since pumping ended up taking me a really long time in the mornings (close to an hour) I wanted the option to walk around more. Got the S1 and a pumping bra, and could make myself breakfast while pumping at the same time. I knew I didn't want to bring one back and forth to work every day, so I leave my S2 plugged in at work and use this around the house. Worth every penny.

I get a minimum of three pumps out of it before the battery even hits half. I usually plug it in around there just to be safe. It is pretty quiet, but not quiet enough for a small office. There are plenty of flange sizes that fit this on Amazon (MayMom) and it's easy to convert to Medela flanges and bottles.

The settings and power are what I attribute to my breastfeeding success. We started out with 100% formula after a long struggle. This pump (and finally getting the right size flanges) is the reason I was able to build up my supply from 1oz a day to over 20. The speed and suction power are both adjustable, and when you find the setting that is just right for you, you are able to extract so much more than other pumps. I mean it flattens me completely. It is easy to get a second letdown, too, since you can go straight from the suckle setting to the last power setting you were at. The night light helped a ton for my middle-of-the-night pumping sessions.

To any mom reading this, make sure you get the flange sizes that work for you! I never got a single drop in the hospital with their $2000 pump, but once I switched this was perfection. Google "Maymom breastshields selection guide"
Best Pump I've Owned and Best Value

I have owned and rented many pumps over the years including the Medela Symphony, Medela PIS, Ameda Purely Yours, Lansinoh Hand Pump, and Avent Electric Pump (this was the worst hands down). I wasn't getting much out of my Medela Pump in Style the insurance company provided despite having having adaquate supply, so my lactation consultant recommended this one as new to the market as an affordable hospital grade for purchase. Indeed it works just as well as the Symphony at such a reasonable price to own. There lots of adaptors to work with other brand parts, but I found what comes with it to work fine, I especially appreciate that wider neck bottles can screw directly in.
The other features stand out:
1) it comes with two different size shields especially since the majority of women probably fit better in the 28 mm than 24 mm.
2) worth the extra money for the blue version with the rechargeable battery since it holds a charge for days. You can take it anywhere in your house, car or travel for the day and don't have to worry about power supply.
3) it's whisper quiet unlike the Medela PIS or worse the Ameda Purely Yours.
4) It has a let down mode that lets you adjust the suction and you switch it over rather than automatically doing it.
5) Has a timer.

If there was one feature I wish it had it would be a backlit display rather than relying on the night to see the screen in a dark setting.
Wow! Just wow. A weight has been lifted from my shoulders.

Wow. Just wow. Why did I not hear of this pump sooner? Comfortable, portable, lightweight, oh- and more than double the milk!! Seriously, it is almost a crime that the insurance companies just give out inferior pumps when this is available. I was concerned when returning to work with my second baby that I would not be able to produce enough milk. With my first, I pumped like 6 times a day at work to make enough with my Medela PISA. Now, those worries are gone. Totally gone! The proof is in the pictures. 10 mins of total comfort and quiet on the Spectra vs 20 mins of loud wrenching and pulling on the PISA.
Only pump you'll need!

Best pump ever (only pump I've used but only one I will ever need!) I am a full time working mom. I was lucky to get 13 weeks of maternity leave. I was concerned when I had my baby because I have breast implants (below muscle). But after birth (via csection), my baby latched and we were in business.

I breastfed only for first 3 weeks. Then I introduced 1-2 pumps a day. I didn't get much-but that was expected. Around the 5-6week mark I began pumping and stashing more frequently. By the time I went back to work at 13 weeks pp I had 800oz in my deep freezer.

My baby is now 23 weeks old and I have 1750oz in my deep freezer and she still nurses. This pump is AMAZING! It's nice to have the mobility of a rechargeable battery Bc I can pump and do chores and even pump in the backseat of a car while someone else is driving.

I have been separated from my baby for up to 20 hours and this pump is amazing! I would highly recommend to anyone over any of the other brands. I have even convinced some of my second time moms to switch to this pump (since it is free w insurance) and they have loved it and thanked me a 100times over.

The attached pictures are of my frozen milk stash and the other is a picture of my morning pump (after breastfeeding my baby girl).

Cheers and happy baby feeding!

I purchased this pump out of pocket and then mailed receipt and reimbursement application to tricare and they returned my money 100%. So worth it because if you go through a retailer they will only give you the S2 (which is not rechargeable).
Best thing ever

OBSESSED! Best thing ever. I originally ordered the PISA (crap) through insurance, then had to rent the medela symphony for 3 months, then the medela classic, then I heard about the spectra s2. I ordered it and never looked back- so much more comfortable, efficient, and slightly more productive. I love the way it sucks- doesn't hurt! I just recently gave away my S2 and bought this one so that I could pump without being plugged in. In one week, I pumped in the car 4 times! It's small, portable, and so effective! Now my recommendation- get the maymom adapters for medela pieces, cut the medela tubing to use it with the spectra, and use duckbill valves sold on amazon. It is a gamechanger. If you're still on the fence, DO IT! It's the best pump on the market. If you're between the S1 and S2, go S1. It will be the best $$ you've spent!
