Nice Quality Product, But Read This First

Well-made, but be warned if you need to mount it with coarse threaded screws, they won't work. The outer frame is tapped for fine thread M3 screws which are the standard of most case hardware, but in my application I needed the frame to accept the coarse-threaded screws that are used in 3.5 HDDs. I wanted to use this to install a SSD in my Asus Vivo V42 mini PC but the original 3.5 HDD had coarse thread mounting grommets that I needed to reuse for the caddy. I sent it back and got the cheaper General brand caddy instead because it does accept the coarse-threaded screws on the outer frame and it worked perfectly. If the mounting screw type doesn't matter to you, spend the extra money and buy this product over the General because it is better quality.
No lock, but great cage. Low noise and big fan.

The cage in itself is a great device. Huge fan - doesn't blow noisily, but every one of these cages I've ever tried that had a smaller fan attachment - they are noisy and go bad faster than a 120mm fan. Hopefully this one lasts. I'm still thinking about putting a bigger fan on it to move more air - but my temps inside the top of the cage are only 103 degrees Fahrenheit at peak times, and typically 90 idle. I deducted one star because there is no lock at all, making it a bit of a fear for my toddler to come pop one out.
Great Hard Drive Cage

After reading several reviews about cages I was looking for a solution to add some hot swap to my very old CM Stacker case I came across the Rosewill and I was quite surprised at how good this device is. The plastic is a little higher impacted plastic so I would hope that the heat from the hard drives won't melt anything as I will be leaving this on 24/7. It installed cleaned but I had to install the SATA cables in first including the 4 pin power on each cage. Access to the cable side of the cage was being blocked by the fan and the no access back plate of the CM Stacker case required me to add the cables first including the power as well. Once every thing was installed the drives lit up and my existing RAID came up without any problems. I'm using an older HighPoint 2320 card which works fine with the cage. If your looking for an inexpensive cage this defiantly should be on your list.
Maybe a little better than I thought.

Installation was very straightforward. Drive trays install securely and easily (do need a screwdriver to install drives in trays). There is a fair bit of plastic but it appears to be a sturdy plastic and overall it has a nice, sturdy feel. All drives are recognized with no intermittent issue of any kinds so far.

I really like the large fan since it didn't add any real amount of noise to the machine. I don't have a good way right now to check temps on the drives but I can actually feel are being pulled in at the front of the enclosure so the air flow seems ok.
Great for converting 5.25" drive bays into HD storage

I used this in my windows server 2012 build and I put 3 WD Reds in it, 1 parity drive and 2 storage drives. I also use an SSD Journaling drive to enhance my write speeds, but that's not used in this piece of equipment. The lights indicate when a drive is in use, and it gives you quick access to the drives. I don't use optical drives either so it was a great piece of equipment to fill those 5.25" bays on the front of my case. Sort of cheap feeling, but definitely cheap in price. No regrets and I would purchase this again.
