I've been using my BC-1000plus for 4 months now. This scale isn't for the faint at heart or thin of wallet. If you plan on purchasing this you're probably looking for more than what the average scale provides and have other physical fitness related devices. At first glance you'll see it doesn't give a read out. This means you'll need a ANT+ device such as a Garmin fitness watch or a laptop. It comes with a Garmin ANT+ USB doggle and associated software.

What I found interesting is the amount of information this scale can provide you and how quickly the data changes. What I mean is you could lose say 2-3 pounds but your BMI could go up by 2-4. The Metabolic age can fluctuate 20 years at any given moment too. There were a couple other readings I found that had fluctuations that didn't seem to match the weight loss that occurred. It's because of this that I try to weigh myself no less than once a week. You'd probably go batty weighing yourself at any more frequent intervals. If you're going to create an account for your kids or anyone under the age of 18 you'll need to falsify their age as being 18 and then don't take the read out too serious.

As a techie kind of guy, I love it! I use it with both my laptop and my Garmin 310XT and it works seamlessly with both. As a person cutting weight and then wanting to measure many aspects of my body measurements, I love it! As a critical data crunching kind of guy I'm some what in the dark with the actual read out it provides. I'm sure our bodies do fluctuate in composition based on visceral/bone/muscle density and that fluctuates with water retention and loss. Which is why I only gave it 4 stars. As it stand it does motivate me to continue my daily physical and dietary goals which was the purpose of my getting it in the first place.
