Easy and beautiful

I found this kit to be easy to follow. Some complained the canvas wasn't printed with the colors. I think the colors were too similar and would make it very hard to complete. I f you can count to ten you should have no issues. To keep my place I would use a post it note to mark the pattern. I also found it easier to do it if I laid out the yarn in order and then hooked the rug. I usually split it up into 3 sections/ row. My only problem was figuring out the difference between the dark grey and the dark green. The black was very clearly marked with a white square. My only complaints would be the yarn tends to fray and some of the yarn was not the same length but nothing noticeable in the final project. Also separating the yarn was a REAL pain. It was very time consuming and some of the colors are too similar.
Just opened the box and the mat is not stamped ...

Just opened the box and the mat is not stamped with the picture colors. The instruction sheet has the picture in color with the codes for each color BUT that left bottom corner and right middle are so DARK, I can hardly read the codes on the small blocks. It's going to take forever to get those sections done.
As Expected!

I bought this (the Cardinal Kit) a while ago and just started it this past weekend. It's as expected except one of the bundles is about 3/8" longer than all of the other ones, I've put that one aside hoping that I don't actually need to use it because cutting all the individual strands will be super annoying. Also, the "dark grey" color looks to be more on the brown side than grey, just as an FYI when you're sorting the colors. There's also another color so close to black that if you aren't sorting in bright light it's really hard to tell them apart (it's intermixed with the black, which IMO was a packaging flaw). But these are really minor things that shouldn't deter you from buying the kit. Just to clarify from reading some other reviews (they are older) this is NOT a pre-stamped canvas, it's blank and comes with a color coded chart that is very easy to follow once your colors are sorted.
I am having a great time completing this kit

I am having a great time completing this kit. There are 22 colors. There were a few colors that were hard to tell apart, but in good light I was finally able to sort them. Some of the yarn in wonderart kits frays quite a bit and some pieces are thinner. Also some are a bit longer, but I can always trim them. There is so much detail and it's fun to get to each new section. I was very satisfied with this kit as the price was low compared to other brands.
Best latch hook ever but poorest quality I have ever seen

This was one of the most fun latch hook kits I have had But it had several problems. One of the problems is that the yarn is not consistent at all. most of the yarn is either too thick or too thin and falls apart and none of it is the same length, even in the same colors, they're not the same length. The grid that it's on is one of the weakest I've had and I feel like it's going to fall apart every time I use some of the thick yarn in it. The guide is very hard to read. Black and dark green look exactly the same on it you have to be under a bright light in order to see the difference and I ran out of black and gray yarn. But it was by far the most fun watching I've had to do and it is particularly difficult for younger kids to do.
