Cheaply made and not good for uncarpeted flooring
Holly BerryMay 28, 2018
I ordered this as a replacement for my previous set of doggie steps. My last steps were the kind with a plastic frame and a removable cover made from a carpet like material. I was looking to get away from the fabric cover style, which led me to these doggie steps.

We have hardwood floors, and these steps are not at all functional on them. The base pieces of the steps that touch the floor are very thin plastic, and do not grip at all on a smooth flooring surface. The first time my dog tried to use them, the stairs went flying backward out from underneath him when he jumped from the 3rd stair to the bed. (Luckily, he made it onto the bed and didn't hurt himself.)
I tried attaching grip strips to the bottom of the steps, but the plastic pieces that the steps stand on proved too thin to even get any type of grips to stick to.
I finally ended up putting a rug underneath the stairs, and that seems to be working pretty well, as far as keeping it in place.
I could have saved myself a lot of headache with this thing if the description had just stated that it's not for use on uncarpeted floors.

Now that I've gotten it properly mounted on the floor, it works ok. Although, for the price, it seems pretty cheaply made and not very sturdy. My 14lb dog uses these stairs, and if he weighed anymore, I would definitely be worried about them collapsing under his weight.

All in all, I can't say I would recommend these. Between the high price tag and seemingly low quality construction, you're better off spending a few more dollars and getting something sturdier.
Cheap and flimsy!

These stairs are very cheap feeling and flimsy! My dog weights 10 pounds and she can warp the top step without putting her full weight on it. Also these stairs want to topple over with the slightest of movement. I wouldn't recommend this item. This is another Amazon bait-and-switch product, where the images look fine but once you hold the product you quickly realize how cheap and bad it is.
Folding pet steps that can't be beat!! I recommend them highly.

The steps arrived promptly as advertised and are much better than the less expensive wood and cardboard steps I have purchased in the past. My dogs are quite happy with these steps and it only took showing them once or twice for them to start using them. I would recommend these steps to anyone with a small dog allowed to get on a bed or sofa. I have a Teacup Poodle and a miniature Poodle
and they love these steps. Makes me even happier when I know the Teacup can climb down the steps without having to jump off a bed or furniture and risk damaging legs or hips.
Slippery steps

These steps are well made and will last us a while I'm sure. I like the folding and portability of these. These are sized to access a surface of 19"-20" well. If your surface is taller than that your pet will have to leap to get there. An issue I see with these, well there is a padded step, it's very small, leaving a plastic surface that your pets nails might slip on. My toy poodle does not like having uncertain footing and therefor won't use these. However k plan to put carpet on the tops of these that match the house hold, and she'll be fine I'm sure. For this slippery aspect, I've lowered my rating.
Careful With Wood Floors

I purchased this for my 3 lb miniature Morkie to get on the sofa. It's light, compact and the perfect height for my 18" high couch. Can easily scratch hardwood floors. I stuck those little rubber cushions to the bottom six corners but, the plastic is a thin line....does not have any space to have any cushion stick on to it securely. You can actually see the tiny, clear rubber piecee that came off from one of the corner. Maybe I'll try glue gun...if that doesn't work, than maybe put a mat underneath. Besides that, it's a good purchase and my furry girl learned to use it really quick with some treats and help from her chipmunk frienda.
