These knifes are okay. Got them as a gift for my wife, she loves the ceramic knifes. The price for the quantity isn't bad, but we've got cheaper off brand ones we picked up that have lasted longer. The tang on these has started to separate from the handle. We were also disappointed as every other ceramic knife we've purchased over the years has had a plastic sheath for storing the knife. These didn't.

I would not recommend these knives, I'd get a cheaper set and just replace them when they break.
Excellent Ceramic Blades

I am not new to ceramic knives. I have purchased another brand of ceramics before so I knew somewhat what to expect when the Kyocera set arrived. Compared to another no-name brand, I felt the Kyocera set had some advantages. This set quickly bites into tomatoes, peaches, fruits with zero slippage along the sharp edge. The blade has no hesitation cutting into soft fruits and veggies making paper thin slices super easy to do. My other set of ceramic blades are thicker on the backend of the blade much like stainless steel knives. But the Kyocera set measures the same uniform thickness on the sharp and dull edges. Why is this important? It makes cutting those paper thin tomato slices easy because it removes the ambiguity of whether I am holding the blade at the precise angle to cut even slices. At first, this uniform thickness makes them look like lesser quality than my other set but in actual performance, they worked better. The set also comes with a serrated blade for when you need that kind of application.

The only con are the ergonomics of the handles and because the Kyocera set doesn't include sheaths to protect the knives. I felt, if less expensive sets include sheaths, then the Kyocera should also. The handles don't feel firm in the hand like other ceramics so that's a downer. But nevertheless, they do perform extremely well.

I do wish they came in all black or gun metal gray. I don't get why ceramics come in fruity colorful colors. But that's just my subjective feeling about them. On the plus side, Kyocera offers a life-time sharpening service included with the set. I haven't used their service yet because I just bought them but if they stand true to their promise, I would think Kyocera blades provide a good value. But having a second set of these knives would make sense so while one set is back at Kyocera being serviced, I would have another set to keep using in the kitchen.

One tip I would like to pass on. If I had to buy again, I would still buy Kyocera. However, I would pick a set with only longer knives. The smaller knives aren't as useful and don't get used often. So it's wasteful if you think about it. You don't want to use ceramic blades on ceramic plates so the smaller blades aren't very useful for the dinner table either. Ceramic blades should only be used on wood cutting board to prevent them from chipping. I use a bamboo cutting board because of their natural antibacterial properties.
I actually LOVE these knives

I actually LOVE these knives, but the blade always end up chipping while cutting something so soft. I have had 2 sets and given 3 sets as gifts and all of us have had this happen to the knives, for me it's been multiple knives. Too bad because they cut so well :(
10 STARS!!!!!

This is the most AMAZING, SHARPEST, IMPRESSIVE, Knife i have ever used. These things are incredible! Buying another one as a gift! You need this in your life. Forget any other knife. First Impression, i was a little skeptical because it felt like one of those plastic knife they give you for takeout, I laughed because, after I tested how SHARP this thing was, I felt like I discover a new element. As a test "DO NOT TRY THIS" (I'm a professional idiot) I shaved my arm with it to see if it can match my KaBar survival knife. Wow! Kycocera may make crappy phones but their Knifes are out of this world!!!
Not Commanded at all

Purchased on June 2016 and use it during Christmas 2016. The two small one I have not yet use but the Chef's Knife big one at the 1st time by cutting pork a small piece came off and at the 3rd time using it the sharp edge broke a big piece came out by cutting potatoes. I have use other brand ceramic knife for many years and I love ceramic knife. This is the first time I use Kyocera. the knife is very thin and fragile.
