No more LED Flicker!
Mr. Mom•January 5, 2017
Not only is this a Wink 2 Compatible device, it is the first of many dimmers I have tried that doesn't cause flickering of my LED recessed lights. This switch can be turned off and still operate through a smart home hub.
I bought the switch out of necessity to control lights when away on vacation, having come to expect the dimmer/LED "compatibility" issue I was very pleasantly surprised when for the first time at least one room in our house full of recessed LED trims didn't blink and flicker.
The price is in line with the many Lutron Maestro dimmers that we unfortunately installed with terrible results.
I plan on replacing as many dimmers as I can with the Linear WD500Z, even if it didn't have z-wave, the performance as a stand-alone dimmer is spectacular.

Great quality for a good price...

My Linear Switch was sitting in my mailbox the other day..I was happy to see it there and just getting out of work i wanted to install it in place of my attic light..I am always leaving my attic light on so i know this will solve my issue..I have many Linear zwave products in my house and they all are of top notch in my book..Inclusion was simple..Set your controller in inclusion mode and tap Linear zwave switch..My Vera lite seen the devise right away...I really love Linear products and never had a problem with any of them..In my Vera Lite u17 software the new dimmer showed up with a slide bar and an on and off switch...Works great..Now i set the dimmer up so when i am in Away mode the Linear Attic Dimmer will shut off ..Just in case i leave the light on the switch will shut off by it self...Simple to install...The blue wire goes to the load meaning the light..Black is constant 110 and white is neutral and green is ground..Strait forward and great quality...I plan an buying more of these light dimmers..Linear also had three way switches and just On and Off switches that all work great.I know cause i have all of them working on my Vera platform
Very Good Single Pole Dimmer

I ordered 2 of these switches to further my home automation with my Veralite and have been using them for about two weeks. Here is my review:
The BAD: I assumed that these switches could be used as a three way and maybe they can with the right Aux. switch but I had bought the Enerwave Aux. switch that did not communicate with this one. The instructions to wire it as a three way came with the Aux. switch, none for this switch. This switch has only four wires and none of them are travlers, which is what you need for a standard three way switch. This switch has a Neutral, 120v hot wire, Ground wire and the Load wire. You MUST have a Neutral wire in your switch box for this switch to work.
The GOOD: If you are using this as a single pole switch then this is a very good product. I have dimmed LED's and Incandescent bulbs with these switches very well. Just a note that if you are dimming LED's then make sure that they are rated for dimming, some are not, and dimming them may cause it to flicker.

This is my honest review and I did not receive them at discount or for free. I am a licensed electrician.

This switch does NOT support associations. Nice Dimmer otherwise.
Shockcord•October 27, 2015
This switch does NOT support associations. The manual says it does but it does not report support of the Z-Wave association class and can not be associated with other devices. This means no status updates to a controller and no way of switching other Z-Wave devices from this switch.
As others have mentioned ignore the manual - you need to double tap the switch to include/exclude the device.
Note: I can find no instructions on how to reset this device (so this could potentially be an issue at some point like if it ever gets disassociated with the controller).
As a Z-Wave dimmer switch it is functional. The device comes with pigtail wires to wire nut into the electrical box (no screw clamps).
Again contrary to the manual the indicator light came configured to be On when the light is Off (I did not try to configure it the other way).
Working fine with an LED bulb.
White only paddle included.

Works with finicky LED bulbs.

I'm remodeling a house we just bought. For some reason the previous owner decided that the bathroom mirror needed 5 5-globe bulb light fixtures around the mirror. Replacing them all with LED bulbs would be pricey but I jumped on a Woot! deal and picked up 20 G25 bulbs and a good price. I replaced the fixtures to only accept 20 bulbs, but they were WAY too bright. I decided to get a digital dimmer and figured I may as well get a Zwave one since the price difference is minimal. I originally got a GE one and immediately noticed that the lights flickered when not running at 100%. I have other LED fixtures running without problems so it must be the blubs - with 20 bulbs that's a good amount of load on the circuit, but I guess they were cheap for a reason. I got this Linear dimmer as a replacement based on really good reviews and it's CHEAPER than the GE dimmer.
Since installing this dimmer, no more flickering lights.
This dimmer does have some differences - for example, the wire leads are attached to the unit. I'm not crazy about that because it means extra wire nuts in the junction box, and if your leads get damaged you could end up ruining the switch. I also like the blue indicator LED on the GE switch more than Linear's green one but these are all nit-picky things that don't really matter. The switch works great. I noticed that while the dimmer is changing from one level to another the switch hums slightly but stops as soon at it reaches the desired level.
This is my new go-to switch for dimmers. Works a lot better than any other switch I used, even with finicky LED bulbs.
