Was worried at 1st about this, but then I saw someone on a reef keeping site with this on his tank and it lookes really sharp. Definitely holds weight and is solid once assembled. I have a 24", t5 fixture hanging about 8" off my tank without any bowing in the middle.

I only gave it 4 stars because of the lack of instructions. Just pictures with faded words. I could not figure out how to mount wire hangers because of this.

Would buy again. I have the 24" model

First off all the product is made fairly well. Its a mix of plastic and metal. The only reason I gave this product three stars is because I ordered a light bracket to fit a 48 inch aquarium. They sent a 48 inch upper pole. That in itself seems just fine. However, the pole mounts that attached to the aquarium are mounted to the outside of the aquarium extending the mounting poles about an inch to each side. That means on a 48 inch aquarium the actual length needed for the upper pole would be 50 inches. The darn thing was two inches to short. n If you had a smaller aquarium, no problem. So when you order make sure your aquarium is smaller then the top pole

The item is decent in function and design, ultimately the three stars comes from lack of overall quality and high price-point.

Firstly, the set up is 99% plastic (other than the silver mounting brackets for the light fixture and the hanging rods) making the vital support parts flimsy and easily broken. Also the silver mounting brackets contain three microscopic ball bearings that are so easily lost and simply fall out the top of the bracket when assembled. So be careful! If you lose a single bearing, the wire won't catch to secure your light and hanging a light on this fixture will require creative mortification (basically I used zip ties instead).

Lastly, the instructions are not sufficient, the paper is small and has one picture no pages. They don't even explain how the silver ball-bearing brackets function (that's when I lost the bearings). Keep in mind that the overall assembly isn't rocket science. But for those who disassemble the silver mounting brackets...you're gonna loose the bearings and end up wasting $75 on a simple light frame.

Not worth it :(
