Definitely worth the money and fairly easy to install.

I can't speak to just how successful these will be in actually keeping someone out, but, I can speak to the ease of installation. For the most part it's pretty easy. Pull a couple screws, drill a few holes. Place the guards. Put in some new screws. It took me about 30 minutes for the front door which is a traditional door. I did run into problems on my basement door as the door frame is mounted directly to the concrete, not to wood studs. This took a while longer to drill and required a bit of dremil work as the tolerances were too tight. But that was just my situation and no fault of the product. The product is stout and gives me confidence that it will hold up to a beating. I'm not convinced that it will keep someone out, but I do believe they'll need to make a damn good effort if they want in. Do note that if you have a modified French door (where one "door" is permanently mounted and the other door opens to the frame side, this may not work for you. Just make sure you do a little measuring and check your clearances before ordering. Everything you need is included. I'm giving a full four stars for the product. I am reserving 1 star simply because I won't really know how it truly performs until the day of reckoning, which I hope never comes. Still, this product does give me a lot of confidence in my defenses. YMMV PS: Bonus Tip: Drill out all your holes. If you try to just drive in your screws you can (and probably will) either strip out the screw head or worse snap the head off due to overheating. Don't ask me how I know. (face palm)

Installation is very easy. Door now closes with heavy metal click. Gives me more peace of mind against breaking and entering artists who typically kick the door in.
Garage door is secure

Quality components. Used them on a detached garage that is far from main house. Old hardware was ridiculous, maybe 1in screws in to soft wood. Door could have been kicked in by a kid. Now it is properly secured and I worry less about someone having easy access. Was easy to install, price was less than competition, and it comes with everything you need. Would definitely buy again.
Job done!

I had a double break in prior to installing the Door Armor kit. One of the door frames was badly damaged to the point that the door did not close properly, the other one visibly cracked but it was still functional.
My main concern was about the Door Armor being able to "repair" the most damaged door frame in order to get the door to close and be secure - keeping in mind that this would be a temporary fix because part of frame needs to be replaced.
The installation was pretty easy for both doors. The metal jamb shield once set is now able to hold the main damaged door frame allowing the door to close securely as expected.
Like many of you could ask, would the door armor be able to sustain a breakage at this point? I am not sure but based on the way that it was set up, it will NOT be an easy task to slam open the door as it did happen previously. It will definitely take more effort and time to break through (because of the damaged frame) otherwise in "normal conditions" I think it will strongly hold any type of forced entry.

The only cons - it is esthetically not pleasant, I should have ordered the satin nickel instead of white. probably it could look better over wood.
Burglar tried to break in while I was still home
JDMarch 19, 2016
Someone tried breaking into our home when I was still inside. I'm still worried if the person will ever come back so I want to slow him down as much as possible. Numerous sources suggested reinforcing the door as one of the main priority so I purchased this. Why choose this over others? It looks overkill but you can't put a price on feeling safe in your own home again.

The only thing I'm familiar with is building IKEA furniture so this was considered a jump in the learning curve. I ended up installing this without any modifications and it took about 20 minutes to finish.

PROBLEM: I wasn't able to close the door after the hinge shields were installed. The nail would rip out of the door hinge if I closed it all the way.
FIX: The instruction says not to over-tighten the screws. I ended up tightening what I thought would be over-tightened and the door closed without a problem.

Some say the MAX combo is overkill but after being inside my home while the burglar repeatedly kicked my door, it's worth it.

If you want to layer your door security, you should
- Use a solid core or metal door
- Wide angle peephole
- High Quality deadbolt with ANSI grade 1 that has a 1-inch throw bolt
