I did medium roasting ( i stopped roasting during the first crack because i don't like a dark roasting) with this bean

I bout 3lb for this bean. I did medium roasting ( i stopped roasting during the first crack because i don't like a dark roasting) with this bean.
I pour over a day after (for degassing) the roasting with chemex and the taste feature is very citrus and clean.(maybe becuase of chemex filter)
I don't taste any bitterness and i think it has a medium body. good to try it.
Great bean for home roasting, made white coffee with it

Excellent quality raw beans. I roasted at 325 degrees for about 40 minutes, and got very nice white coffee. Will probably buy more and experiment with light roasts as well, something more like a bean temp of 350 to 375 where the bean opens. These beans are nice enough I probably could have got away with 20 minutes, but I wanted to make sure and cook off all the chlorophyll and acids. Next time I will get a whiter shade of pale
Great coffee beans

I've been roasting a few years and have pretty much bought exclusively from Lavanta in the past. This bean was a little better than what Lavanta sells I believe. The beans are smaller than I expected but seem to be of uniform size.

I usually roast mine full city+ or just past and these beans came out great. Like other beans, letting these sit for 48 hours makes a huge difference, as the flavors really begin to come out after 48 hours. I know it seems counter-intuitive to let fresh roasted beans sit out for that long to air out but it's how you get the best flavor.

If you're looking for a good Costa Rican coffee, you can't go wrong with these.
Perfect Coffee Every Time

I am new to home roasting, having only delved into it in February 2016. I am on my third bag of these beans - the Dota Estate, not even the nectar. These beans taste wonderful. I roast them in a Behmor 1600 Plus roaster, using 1 lb of beans on the 1 lb setting, Program A, Profile P1, adding enough time at the end to take the beans 10 seconds into 2nd crack, and then immediately into cool down mode. While they're offgassing (and until they're used up), I store them in a BeanSafe The Coffee Storage Solution, Black Stainless, and within two days, the flavor develops into a rich medium-bodied roast with notes of chocolate and caramel. I use these beans in my Breville Oracle espresso machine, with excellent results brew after brew.
Most delicious coffee I've ever tried

You know, I didn't like these for making green coffee, but rather than waste them, I tried roasting some at home. And oh my goodness, I've never had such delicious coffee before in my life. This got changed from 2/5 to 5/5 after trying it roasted light. Those little coatings on the outside that were so gross for green coffee became absolutely divine when roasted. The the small sample of a pre-roasted variety that was included was very tasty as well, but still not nearly as good as this one.

Try this roasted yourself. It's really freaking good.
