Perfect TSA backpack for 17 inch laptop
Dawn TOctober 30, 2017
Man, I love this backpack. I could not find a backpack that would fit my 17 inch laptop. Not only does this fit my laptop no problem, the added bonus of not taking my laptop out at the TSA check point is great. I had no problem with TSA.
This backpack is strong and well made also. It has a spot for another laptop in the same flip open area. My 15 inch laptop fit there perfectly. I had to take out the 15 inch laptop at TSA, but it slides out so easy.
I loved the little wallet pocket on top. That's what I call it because it holds my wallet and phone safe and securely. It's only about 5 inches deep so nothing falls to the bottom where I have to dig for it.
I had 2 laptops 2 books, my purse, and paperwork in this backpack. It weighed 26 pounds, and the straps didn't even look like they were straining. The pads did not dig into my shoulders. The key hook inside is awesome. The organizer inside is awesome. I'm stoke I bought this backpack.
Nice bag, but be wary of the "lifetime limited ...
Steven KleinOctober 2, 2017
Nice bag, but be wary of the "lifetime limited warranty". Key word is apparently "limited'. After using this bag for travel for just under three years the main strap separated from the body of the backpack. After inquiring with Everki customer service and sending the attached pictures it was determined that my broken strap was not covered under the "lifetime" warranty because - "The damage shown looks to have come from either a cut or the breakage of the weakened strap". While definitely not cut, I would expect a weakened strap to be covered. Anyway, the bag was nice while it lasted, but the warranty was justification for the premium price. With the Everki being three times the cost, I think I will buy a new North Face or eBags backpack this time around and take my chances.
Now I know what an Everki is.

I'm a heavy traveler,on the road about 50% of the time. I had a well worn Samsonite backpack that was truly on its last thread. I had wanted a Tumi, but could not talk myself into paying $400 for a backpack. Even though I had not heard of the brand name before, based mostly on the Amazon reviews, I bought this Everkii model. Very glad I did. It has ample room, and has the extra feature that allows it to slide over the handle of my roll aboard suit case. The material, zippers, and latches are of good quality. In addition I was skeptical of the "TSA approved" zippered computer section that allows you to unzip and lay the backpack open and flat on the security baggage belt without removing the laptop for security screening. To my surprise it works well and has been accepted at every domestic and international airport I have traveled through. No more taking the laptop out of the backpack and putting it in the security bins. When you travel for a living, every step saved is appreciated. Lastly, it has a large open pouch in the front that is great for storing magazine, newspapers, etc. for easy access once you have boarded the plane or train.
Great backpack, but doesn't fit the Alienware 17 R4
Cameron ZJune 28, 2017
This backpack is fantastic. Having owned varying types of packs from different manufacturers, from Camelbak's old Motherlode series to run of the mill Jansports, it's clear that this stands above the rest in build quality and features. Anything needed for a week away from the office (besides a printer) fits in here nicely.

However, while it's no fault of the Atlas, it does not fit all '17" class' laptops. My Alienware 17 R4 would need another 0.5"-1" horizontally and maybe 1.5" vertically to fit, which I should have measured/confirmed before ordering. I'm sure I'll still get plenty of use out of it as a photography/work/travel bag, since unlike some "laptop backpacks," it's not really pigeonholed into doing just one thing.
Recommend the bag

I bought this back pack a couple years ago. At first I was skeptical and not thrilled as it was different from the jansport I was leaving behind and I had all the pockets on that figured out.

But this ultimately has been the right purchase for me. I fly every week and with layovers sometimes I'm on 4-5 flights every week. This goes through security no problem (especially like that I can unzip the laptop pouch for that as two laptops don't always go through the and
Scanner great), got under the seat on both regional and larger flights, and is a life saver that it attaches to my suitcase because it's quite heavy. And I have a tendency to not always be super gentle, just the nature of travel sometimes. so I really have tested the padding on the laptop pouches and it holds up. I never worry if it clunks down a bit harder than I intended or had to be pushed into the seat in front of me. The general material of the whole bag seems to be very good quality and quite sturdy.

To give a proper idea of what it can hold I'm currently sitting in an airport and it has two full sized laptops, two phones, a tablet, ipod and case, Nintendo 3DS XL, fitbit with no power, all the power chargers external harddrive mice and whatnot that come with those electronic devices, a pillow pet, a 20 ounce water bottle, wallet, passport, keys, nail clippers, gum, makeup mirror, two hard covered notebooks, two things of peanuts, chapstick, tylenol, and a multitude of pens in each pocket because I can never get enough. I'm probably not taking the organization as far as I could but I at least know where everything is.

The only things I can say negatively is that I'm just not a fan of Orange. It's just one of my least favorite colours I suppose. I somewhat wish it was yellow or something. But it's definitely helped me find what I need in the bag and is professional looking. Also the water bottle strap is literally holding on by a thread but with the zip pouch my bottle doesn't fall out. It's too tall really to use the strap anyways.

Overall definitely recommend the bag. I've put it through the ringer and it holds up.
