Ordered this after I returned Magic Closer which did not work. I don't mind giving five stars but the product design was not taken into consideration of attaching to different shapes of garage doors. I started Mahler's Resurrection when I started installing the door sensor, expecting it would have been done 4 minute 23 seconds. But when I came back to inside after I finished attaching the sensor to the door, the Resurrection was on the Finale. You know it is the long piece of symphony. I had to improvise back panel to attach the sensor. I prefer the concept of Magic Closer to this, but I lost confidence for that after the first unit was defect.
Undependable

It worked for five weeks, then consistently failed to indicate when the garage door was open. I removed the sensor from the garage door and brought it into the house. It seemed to work fine. I remounted it where I had originally placed it and now it seems to be working again. I don't see that I did anything differently this time. This leaves me uneasy. Now when the green light is on I don't know if the door is closed, or if it's open and the sensor is failing to properly indicate its position again. That rather defeats the purpose I bought it for, if I have to visually check to see if the system is working and the garage door is really closed.
Signal too weak to work reliably
Jon Voskuil✓ Verified Purchase•April 17, 2017
At my house this works maybe 80 percent of the time when the car is out of the garage. It works 0 percent of the time when the car is parked inside the garage, in line with the signal path. There are three standard wood-framed walls between the sensor and receiver, with no foil-faced insulation, and the total distance is less than 50 feet. If your setup has fewer walls or shorter distance, and if your car doesn't sit in the signal path, it may work well for you.
Junk!

Set this up today. It took repeated attempts to pair the sensors with the receiver. One sensor worked quite well to a distance of 10 feet. When I took it out to my driveway, the base didn't pick it up at all. The other sensor set of the alarm only once out of 20-30 attempts at about 3 feet and when I placed it outside it didn't work at all. Don't waste your time or money. I am returning this kit for a refund. Caveat emptor.
(Up to) 800 ft. range? Where . . Bonneville Salt Flats??

Try 80 . . I figured I would have plenty of range to spare at only 90 ft. distance to cover, but both units I purchased stopped working reliably just 10 ft. before reaching my 2 garages that are only 90 ft. away. Tried for hours repositioning both the transmitters and the receivers (2 sets), and even putting the receivers up on a high ledge above the doorway closest to the transmitters, and even attaching extending wires to the receivers' antennae to extend them up to the ceiling peak at 14 ft., all to no avail. Best I could get it to work was "sometimes" and since I was at the end of it's usable range at around 90 ft., the transmitter would only work if I held it chest-high OUTSIDE the (metal) garage door, but of course it has to be mounted on the *inside*, where the metal door blocks part of the signal, which made it then not work consistently. To further complicate matters, the transmitter must be mounted on the *bottom* of the garage door, right next to the floor, which (further) impedes the signal from working reliably. Should work fine if you only need something in the 75 ft.-or-less range, but otherwise . .
