Good but order the big one

I just took my dog on his first airplane trip and I ordered one of these to carry him. He's a five-pound chihuahua mix so he's pretty tiny. I originally ordered the medium one because it said it was good for pets up to 10 pounds. He should have fit perfectly but his head almost touched the top when he was standing and it was very difficult for him to turn around, which is a requirement for the airlines. He could lay down, but that pretty much had to be it. It just seemed too cramped for him so I returned it and ordered the larger one. When I put him in the medium one, he just stood there looking at me like he didn't know what to do -- he looked a bit scared because it was so closed in. When I put him in the larger one, he walked in, turned around, and seemed fine. The large one was much better -- there was room for me to put his blanket inside for him to snuggle in and he could easily turn around. I know that the length of the larger one is pretty much the max for fitting under airline seats (19") so be aware of that if you have a larger pet. I wouldn't put a dog bigger than 10 pounds in this one, unless he's okay being a bit cramped. If you order the medium size, I wouldn't put any pet larger than five or six pounds, unless it's something like a rabbit that isn't very tall and is okay being a bit snug. My cat probably would have been fine because she liked to stuff herself in boxes she barely fit in, so this would probably be good for a cat over 10 pounds. I really thought that size would work well for my tiny pup, but he was more comfortable in the larger one.

It has a nice soft fleece bed on the bottom and a piece of hard plastic under that to hold the shape. The fleece part attaches to the plastic part with velcro so it doesn't slide around. But that means you can't slide a puppy pad under it -- in case of accidents -- so you would need to put the puppy pad directly on the bed. I didn't use one, but if that's something you need, consider that. My dog seemed perfectly comfortable sleeping in it and laying in it when I was carrying him. He didn't slide around, which is good. There is a velcro pocket on one side and a mesh pocket on the end of it, so you do have some storage for toys, treats, etc. The mesh pocket doesn't close in any way but there is elastic at the top so it stays closed fairly well. The velcro pocket is longer but not very big. It initially holds the shoulder strap and could be used for a leash or something similar. The shoulder strap needs to be a bit longer because I'm only 5'8" and I had it extended to the full length. I didn't want him right at my waist. And it would be nice if the shoulder strap had thicker padding on it to make it more comfortable to carry. The handle grips are comfortable and the carrier itself is pretty light so it wasn't heavy to carry. The top handle grips also velcro together so you can separate them and pull them off to the side to make the top feel more open to your pet during the trip. It has two snap straps on one side that you could use to attach this to something, but they are vertical instead of horizontal so it would be a bit more difficult to attach this to your luggage so that you could put it on top and carry it that way. It's possible, but only if your luggage is the exact width of those straps. There is also a built in luggage tag that wraps around one of the hand straps -- much better than a hanging one -- so that was convenient. There are also reflective stripes on it.

There are a lot of mesh openings in this carrier so your dog won't feel closed in. After take-off, I was able to put the carrier on my lap and since each end unzips, I could pet my dog during the flight, which definitely calmed him, but not all airlines will allow that. Mostly, I found that the one I flew didn't really care about him at all and I even took him out for awhile on the trip home. This one only opens on the ends, not the top, so your pet will need to be comfortable with walking into it that way.

Even though this is a soft carrier, it holds its shape well. It was shipped flat, but popped right up and has stayed like that. I can flatten it again to store it, but I was happy that it had a good structure. The fabric is nice and durable and I love the color of the purple. For the price, this is a great carrier. The ones at my local pet store were twice the price and didn't offer much more.
FANTASTIC!!!!

Perfect for a Mini Dachshund! We bought this carrier to bring home our Mini Doxie from the breeder. It seems to be well made. The bed is very soft and the exterior has many details for travel, including various pockets with room to hold everything! We haven't used it yet as we are going to get him next week. We properly prepared for his arrival and have gotten everything ready; this was one of the first things we purchased. The color is beautiful! I hope it will be very durable and comfortable for him.

UPDATE: We brought him home in this carrier and it worked great we took him to the store in it and he did not like being locked up in a cage the car ride home. It is well made but a lot of loose strings I needed to cut off. It fits right in the middle seat of the car and goes right into the front of a shopping cart. He likes the bed inside but the walls do close in a bit. It is a great product I DEFINITELY recommend this product. But warning the medium is small you should probably only put a cat or very small dog I recommend for puppies. But you want to order it on Amazon because on Oxgord.com it is very expensive. I recommend this carrier. I LOVE IT!
Great bag!

I ordered the Medium size in Hot Pink for my cat.

- COLOR: like some of the other reviewers already mentioned, the "hot pink" is actually a hot pink color and not like the darker magenta color shown in the listing (you can kind of see the color in the picture I shared)

- SIZE: I got the medium for my kitten, hoping there'd be enough room for her to grow into but it was a bit smaller than I expected (even having known the measurements beforehand). if you look at my photo, it is the perfect size for my 2lb kitten, but I don't think there would be much room for her when she's full grown. I'd recommend getting a large.

Although the color is not exactly as shown and it was smaller than I expected (not the seller's fault, just something that's hard to really tell until you see the item in person with your pet), it's still a really nice and good quality carrier. I was planning to return the medium to get a large in a different color but the seller was very kind and refunded me without the hassle of returning the item so I will go ahead and use this for my kitten until she outgrows it and then I'll buy the large carrier when she gets larger.
Love it, just got the wrong size.

This arrived in a very timely manner. It's well constructed and allowed for my wee one to see all 'round with ease. I had a spot of trouble unzipping the zippers, but I think that they are good quality, they were just a bit out of "alignment" since they were all folded up for transport. This case has two handles: a sturdy looking adjustable, and detachable shoulder strap with a nice little padded cushion, and the sewn on straps that meet over the top that also have a padded handle that velcros. The sewn on handles do not go under the case, but are sewn into the structural seams at the bottom. On one of the short straps there is a luggage tag, so you can put your info on the carrier, in case your pet gets misplaced. (God forbid!)

The case has 3 sections that unzip. There is a full one on the end to put the animal in, there is a half one on the other end so they can poke their heads out, and there is a little one on the side that you can just stick your hand through. There is no top opening. The full zipper and the half zipper both have a little buckle/clasp/clip (IDK) to secure the zippers from being opened by inquisitive paws. Just below the petting opening, there is a hand-depth pocket that has a 2 in centered pice of velcro at the top. On the half zipper side there is a slightly larger mesh pocket topped with elastic to keep the contents in. All around the case is a thin strip of grey reflective material. It just looks grey in the picture.

The little bed should stay put well. It has velcro to secure it on the underside in the shape of a capital I. The bed comes with a hard insert that goes in a pocket on the underside to make the bottom sturdy. The fleece material on the bed is not too fluffy, but it's nice, and it looks machine washable. The two large sides of the case feel lightly insulated, or at least cushioned.

As far as color, I'm very happy with the green. It's bright, without being overly so. There is a slightly strong chemical off-gassing. I hope that goes away quickly. It gives me a bit of a headache and made my dog sneeze. Overall, I really like this case. I just happen to have gotten the wrong size for my doggie. She's an 8lb mini dachshund, and though the height is perfect for her, the length falls just too short. She's a bit longer than the case itself! Once I receive the Large version of this case, I'll make an update.

UPDATE: 01/14/2016
I am so happy with this case! This seller is very prompt and professional, WOW! Seriously, my replacement came in 2 days.

Okay, as far as the product itself, here are the differences. The velcro on the bottom of the bed is two parallel lines, not a capital I shape and the hard insert is covered instead of bare. I am a bit disappointed with the shoulder strap for the large, it looks as though it was made for the small. It's too short, and the shoulder pad is barely there. I'll post comparison pictures. The zippers on the L work a bit better than those on the M, perhaps because they didn't get as cramped up. And oddly enough, the L case doesn't smell as strongly as the M size, but maybe I'm just used to that off-gassing smell now. I have been ordering a bunch of stuff lately, ha ha! Anyway, I hope this review helps you out!

----> As you can see in the pictures below, the two straps are very different. That on the left in the side-by-side is the M case strap and that on the left is the L case strap. In the next picture the one on top is the M case strap. It's about 4-6 in longer than the L shoulder strap at full extension. At first I was upset about that but I suppose that you wouldn't want to carry the weight further from your body, in a way similar to how you are supposed to have a backpack nice and close to your back instead of low so your body doesn't have to overcompensate for the shifting weight. Still I would've expected the same kind of padding at least, so it doesn't cut into your shoulder, a larger creature is more likely to be heavier after all. Another difference between the two is that the M strap comes with hooks that swivel fully, but the hooks on the L strap are mainly stationary. In the picture the one on the right is the M strap, you can see how it's laying flat that it's the swiveling one.

* It has a small Velcro pocket- fits leash, small toys, small bag of treats- No large toys, water/food bowls ect..
* It has a side zipper for quick access to comfort your pet
* it a small back mesh pocket
* Plenty of Windows and ventilation- 5 ventilation windows
* Bag handles and a shoulder strap - shoulder strap clips, clips are sturdy. Handles have a velcro strap to hold them together for easy caring
* two zipper entrances, 1 side zipper for hand to pet/calm kitty/dog
* No harness clip
* Velcro Bed
* Bed is washable and faux fur
* -IMPORTANT- zippers to come together and clip, this prevents dog/cat from escaping
* seat belt attachment, and they clip as well, clips are sturdy
*Mesh screening is tough and fine in size. If you have a nervous, or heavy chewer or digger or feisty and playful cat/dog, the seams around the zippers would break first, but then again, this crate isn't a metal cage created for that "type" of cat/dog. So I wouldn't recommend for those type of circumstances.
* Wind and Bind system for the Crate, well this is true but it does cause the crate to roll over. So there is no wire or pvc piping to prevent roll overs. Biggles rolled all the way over and right back up. It didn't scare him, but for others this may be a different story. You need a dog/cat that is crate trained and well behaved. Otherwise, you will be having a dog/cat scooting or even rolling across the floor, like a bag that is on the run.
* Biggles is 5.5 lbs, 26" in length, tail is 12" alone, medium hair, Bengal/Main coon mix. Biggles can play, sit, stand, lay, curl up, roll over, and lay fully extended out on his back comfortably. He has his baby blanket, 3 toys inside his crate with him and seems to get along just fine. The bag is not heavy to carry with or without him. He feels comfortable because he can see and breath without becoming overheated. I do have Biggles in a harness in the pictures. Again, this is not an indicator for a harness clip inside the bag. We just finished a walk outside. However, you can clip your dog/cat, but in a different manner. You'll notice a half-zip entrance/exit on the side of the bag with the mesh pocket. If you have a small retractable leash with a small cord, you will be fine. Clip your dog/cat harness, slip the leash through the back half-zipper entrance/exit, then zip and clip it shut. then place your leash inside your velcro pocket for easy traveling. Then when it comes time to open the crate from the full zipper entrance/exit, you can prevent escapes or lunges. Again, if you have a well trained dog/cat, this will be an added security but unnecessary. Also, the tag on out bag stated that our bag is the 2016 edition. So I hope that helps the lack of the harness clip. The bags color is a tomato red. It not a blue red but an orange red. Very pretty and pops. The height is much taller than the description. When the bag handles are not Velcro-ed together, the bag height with screen fully up was 13", but with the handles in place it reached 12" and when the screen is smashed down it reached 11". So there is some fiddle room. Everything else match according to product description and the tape measure pictures indicate it. please look at them. One more thing, my bag smelled new, but had NO foul odor, and no residue coming off or any bad seams and no zipper malfunctions. I received my bag within 3 shipping days from the order day. The box was not damaged, missing or lost.
