Well balanced, comfy, and easy splitting Axe
Kelly F. Kennedy✓ Verified Purchase•July 14, 2023
Been spilling fire wood for more than 4 decades. I am a Forester, and 'Bush-Whack' for a living....including Data Collection, and Digital Mapping.
I get my choice of wood to burn in my Jotul. I know wood....:)
I understand the complaints about how sharp it is, but this is a small 'spilling tool'...and does not need to be sharp for the task. I was surprised as well, but understand the waste of time to sharpen it. It would just get dull way more often....and not split as easily. A sharper blade sticks to the wood more, instead of 'parting' it. For my purposes, it works perfect. The important thing for me, is is how it is balanced....and how comfy the grip is.
It has it all. Very low energy to split some wood, after I hit the big rounds with a Splitting Mal....made is Washington, and 30 years old. I am retiring my old wooden handled units. OK for Camp and such, but his new unit is a keeper. Makes spilling fun and accurate.

Great ax! Handle is super comfortable. Cuts really well. Its a lower chromium stainless. It oxidized a bit. Scotch bright or wire wheel cleaned it up well.
It looks great mounted to my cycle.

Stout tool for your off road kit

This is one stout tool. A great axe for your off roading kit. Good balance, and with a shorter handle, stows easily. The head has some hefty weight to it. Once in full swing, its going to hit its mark.
A kickaxe axe!

Its an axe... and axes are pretty badass. What else to say? It cuts things... that's awesome. It looks cool hanging on the workshop wall... that's awesome. It swings very easy and destroys small logs. The blade cover that comes on it can be destroyed in one swing, by my wife who is only 118 pounds, so it's not an indestructible blade cover.
Great feel and pretty sharp

This is not as long as I was originally thinking but turns out with the shorter handle it's easier to use. Great for chopping. Haven't split any logs but have chopped plenty of 4"-6" in diameter trees and actually had fun doing it. Easy to swing and with a sharp blade made a quick and easy job of knocking down the trees. Also makes for better storage as this fits nicely in the cargo box on the front of my Polaris sportsman four wheeler that comes standard on the front. Perfect for the trails. I will update this review if anything changes.
