Fantastic DA polisher...significant step up from a PC 7424XP

Significant upgrade from my PC 7424XP. Not only is there more power and a larger throw to make quick work of detailing, the ergonomics are better. The trigger/grip is more comfortable to hold. The palm rest / grip above the head (working end) is just right. Speed adjustment is easy. Locking the trigger on is easy. The speed ramp-up on start-up is great. To top things off it vibrates less and makes it easier to keep going. After buffing my car with the Porter Cable my hands were still tingly and felt like they were vibrating for several hours afterward. I compounded, polished, and waxed the car, one after the other, and felt no fatigue with the Rupes polisher.
It's a pretty big price jump from PC to Rupes, but if you detail more than one car once a year you'll appreciate the comfort and speed bonuses very quickly.

As many have noted, this thing really makes polishing easy and SO MUCH faster. Knock on wood: I have yet to cut through on a corner. It's somehow quite gentle but aggressive enough to get the job done.
The unit is well-made and therefore a bit heavy. Quite manageable, though.

The PC was certainly good, but the Rupes polisher really is a step ...

This is an outstanding polisher. The balance and ease of use are incredible. This is not a cheap unit to be sure. I had used a porter cable polisher random orbital for about 10 years and it burned out. The PC was certainly good, but the Rupes polisher really is a step above.
