Works as it should, everything was pretty easy. Make sure you measure, I actually cut out the end and hardwired it into the fireplace electrical.
Airflow isn't the direction I expected

Unfortunately the specs weren't enough for me to figure out whether the product worked for my situation. I ordered it because 330cfm sounded much better than 150cfm offered by other solutions. But the fan blows up, not down, which won't work at all for me. I also discovered that at the 330cfm speed, the fan generates some noise. That's to be expected. But if you think that because this looks like your quiet computer fans, recognize that the computer fan isn't moving as much air as this does at high speed. Regardless of fan noise, if it worked for my situation, I'd keep it. Would really have appreciated better specs so I didn't have to get it here to understand that it didn't work for me.

The 330CFM rating on the description is extremely exaggerated. This unit is more capable of producing between 150-200 CFM which is very disappointing if you actually expect 330 cfm. I choose not to return it because my old squirrel cage style blower needed replacement and for the price I paid for this one it equals in performance. The temperature switch works well and is adjustable and installation was fairly simple. Maybe with a newer style fireplace insert that has better airflow design you could get maximum efficiency from this thing.

Works great! It is a little loud when it's on full blast, but otherwise it is quiet and it pushes some air!
I ended up just setting it on the ground where the original blower for the wood stove was. That seems to work just fine.
I did end up eliminating the thermostat. I did not want to put any holes in my flu pipe to mount it. In hind sight, I would have left it on and drilled the holes. Sometimes, in the morning, I wake to find the fire is completely burned out and the fan is still running circulating cold air,

Will never buy another squirrel cage fan.

Best fan I've ever installed in my fireplace! The "squirrel cage" fans cannot even compare to the smooth, quiet, operation of this fan. Heats my entire great room and will even migrate to the bedrooms with help of a ceiling fan. Finely engineered, heavy fans with plenty of CFM.
