This is the perfect pill dispenser. My fil has alzheimers/dementia and frequently forgets to take his evening medication. This unit beeps 2 x per day at the time he needs to take his pills. Although it is a little expensive, it is well worth the peace of mind you get when using it. I would highly recommend buying this unit for the elderly or for those who need to take pills frequently. I love this product. It gives me piece of mind that my mom will only be able to take what she is supposed to at the right time. Easy to set up and works like a charm. I suggest you get a spare key. The alarm and flashing light are great as reminders. I love the clear top so I can see when it's time to refill. I read other reviews before ordering. Some not so good. I have not found anything negative about this product. Well made and easy to use. I recommend it.

I wanted something that held more pills than the standard 7-day and this fits the bill. A couple of things that I don't like (and why it gets 3 stars):
-The lid is kind of a pain to get open and doesn't have a slider to keep the compartment currently upfront covered
-There's no way to set alarms that just have the light go off without having the annoying beeping go with it
-The interior ring compartment labels, while convenient to swap out if your pill schedule changes, don't have any adhesive so they don't stick they just lay there
But overall it seems to be good quality construction. We'll see how long the turning mechanism lasts - there's already a rattle inside and the gear that turns the pill tray is just plastic. But for the price it was a good deal.

Very helpful for my mother who has dementia. There are a number of set ups from once a day opening to several times a day and I can change it as needed if my mother's medication changes for a short period of time. It is easy to program and keeps my mom on track with her pills. I can have a lot more confidence and see at a glance if she has missed a dosage. Only problem so far it is very hard to pop it open! I have had to struggle with opening the lock and then popping up the lid every time I need to refill. It's great that the dispenser is so sturdy, but the lock really seems to stick and I worry I will break it trying to get it open!
Awesome for Dementia patients because it allows them some independence and cg some control as well....

I tell everyone that has a patient/family member/friend/etc with dementia how awesome this is. It is loud enough for my grandma to hear it and she is very, very hard of hearing. It also beeps. There isn't a way to take too much or too little because it is locked and only dispenses meds at certain times. It only turns off the beeping/alarm when pills are taken out. It has saved us the $600 per month fee the assisted living facility was going to charge my grandma for dispensing meds. I love it! You can set it up for several days, depending on how often someone takes meds, as in: 28 days (1 x daily); 14 days (2 x daily) and so on. I am so glad the awesome SLP I work with recommended it!!
