Got this for my almost 7 year old who loves crafting. I had to help her understand how to read the key and mix the colors. But she could do the coloring and water painting and she loved it! It took a good amount of time and attention- which I liked. It was the perfect mix of challenge, but achieviblity for her.

I would give this 10 stars if I could. The watercolor pencil system is so cool! You basically color in the picture with the pencil, then get it wet to turn it into paint. It allows for some really fun mixing. My five year old needed help figuring out which pencils to mix together to make certain colors (she can't read yet), but was able to manage all other aspects on her own. That being said, she's very crafty and loves detailed art projects. The colors are just as vibrant as advertised. The canvas is sturdy. Really impressed with the end product.
