Bought this for my brother to use while camping. I have used therma rest myself for years. I can honestly say... no difference although half the price. I was impressed how thick the mat becomes when blown up. It did not inflate itself much as said on packaging but with 15-20 good breaths into mat it popped up. Easy to roll back up again. I personally did not spend much time on the mat, just enough to see how it felt for a few minutes. my brother said it made his sleep night and day difference from his typical foam mat he was using prior. He states he would recommend with 5/5 stars and anyone looking to buy high quality mat to seriously consider this one over more expensive brands. If my current therma rest mat fails me I will be replacing with this mat.

My husband and I enjoy these. We add an additional thin mat underneath just for added cushion. You can definitely find ones that add more cushion, but our biggest quality we desire is to not feel rocks underneath us, and this one fits the bill. It is lightweight and easy to bring, and the feature to blow it up is easy too. It's also easy to roll back up and put away when you're done. There may be softer ones out there, but this one is highly functional, especially for those hiking out to a spot and carrying this along. I'd recommend it! :)

Great pad. Self inflates about 3 quarters of the way. Takes another 4 breaths or so to blow up completely. Not an issue for me. Didn't have room in my pack due to the fact that it doesn't compress as small as some of the other ones. Strapped it on the bottom. Very tonight and durable. Comfortable during the night. Didn't seem to deflate at all. Well worth the price.

Excellent self-inflating air pad for camping. We have used two of them three times so far and are completely satisfied with this purchase. They do in fact self inflat but, to get them fulling inflated you do need to blow into the nozzle about four times for it to become fully firm. I read many reviews of the top products out there and made the right choice. They come with a stuff sack and they easily deflat and go back into the sack. I have not used them for backpacking but they are super light and could be carried long distances with no problem.

I got the small, despite it being probably a foot shorter than me. Why? My feet are comfy enough in the sleeping bag. I mostly got this for my back and to comfortably sleep on my side while camping. This thing is really comfy. I had another self-inflating one in the past, Fox Outfitters is a much softer material than my previous one which seems to make sleeping on it not seem like such a chore as the previous one I owned. I definitely like it a lot, won't go on camping trips without it!
Update:
I've taken a star off after really mulling it over. You slip and slide on this thing while in your bag if you aren't on completely flat ground. It could be improved by a better bag, but I'm replacing this thing for camping that doesn't involve hiking to the campsite.
