I bought this for my toddler as a birthday gift. I figured she was ready for one since she would try and stand on an exercise ball and bounce whenever my husband or I sat on it. Out of the package, it was easy to blow up and felt like a sturdy rubber. (But not the old school thick rubber I was used to) I was surprised to know that after unwrapping her gift she knew exactly what to do with it. Since she is a little on the petite side, I had to let some of the air out, that way her feet could touch the ground. She has played with it everyday.

This is a great quality hopper and would last for a long time. However I would not say a 3 year old can hop on it. My daughter is unable to sit back on it to hop because her legs can't touch the floor when inflated and we even tried letting some air out to where it was still bounceable and didn't help still too big for her. I would still recommend this product though if your 3yr old is taller than average or for older children listed in the age recommendation because I also bought one for my older child and she loves it!
