I purchased the 30" x 23" litter mat and it's just barely big enough to catch most of the litter that gets kicked out of the box or dropped off the kitties toes. I wish I had gone larger but this mat is still useful. It doesn't fully open apart like it shows on the card that is attached, but it opens up like an envelope and you can pour back the cat little either into the litter box or into the garbage. It has helped to keep the area around the litter box cleaner with less loose litter lying around. I don't know how long it will last or if it will dry up after some time has passed like some other similar materials have done. But so far I like it and am glad I bought it.
In our small apartment there's not a lot of options on box placement so there's always litter in the carpet around it (not fun to stand on without shoes)

We have 6 cats (I know) who all track a lot of litter outside the box (especially 1 who likes to play in the litter and kicks it out of the box). In our small apartment there's not a lot of options on box placement so there's always litter in the carpet around it (not fun to stand on without shoes), but since putting one of these mats in front of the box, there has been no more litter on the carpet! We had tried other mats, but this is the only one that actually keeps litter where we want it. I don't like that both ends are open so it is a little difficult to not spill any litter when flexing it open to dump back in the box, but that seems to be the only flaw in the otherwise genius design.
Let's face it, cat litter is the glitter of the feline world, it's forever.

I love my kitties, but I hate stepping in the litter that gets tracked everywhere. Let's face it, cat litter is the glitter of the feline world, it's forever. No matter how many times I've told them, they simply won't wipe their feet. After years of trying to find the best mat to keep littler to a minimum, only to be disappointed at the crunching feeling when I walk across the bathroom floor, I found this mat. Either the kitties have finally learned to wipe their feet or this mat does exactly what it says it does. Knowing my cats, I'm going with the mat does exactly what it says it does. I am definitely buying another one for the second litter box.

Don't look at any other litter mats--just buy this one. Seriously. I couldn't tell you how many litter mats and other apparatuses (sp?) I have tried to reduce the litter tracking through my house with wood flooring that's seen better days. But this has significantly reduced the tracking to the point where instead of coming down to see litter tracked all the way to the couch (unsightly, unsanitary, and plain old annoying), I can come downstairs in the morning to see a nice clean couch and not have litter stuck to the bottom of my feet. When my poor old boy had diarrhea, I just took it outside and hosed it off with some soap and water. The holes are just the right size to catch litter without keeping it inside the mat forever. I will be recommending this to all my cat-owning friends from now on.

I'm not one to write reviews of products just to hear the words in my head; this product is as advertised. It works very well. I've used just about every type of cat litter mat, strainer, catcher, rug etc and so far, this one is the best. It catches the small dusty bits and the larger pieces that cling to paws. It's easy to empty, but note the underlayer is only sewn on the sides not at either end. That caught me by surprise when I first picked it up expecting it to be like a three sided bag; it's not. It washes easily and dries quickly. I hang it in the shower with the top and bottom sides separated and it's back in service quickly. It's also easy for me to walk on; I have two of them end to end and walk on them when I clean the box.
