Keeping in mind that my 2001 Ford F-150 SuperCrew is now 17 years old (and color does fade with time) I was pleasantly surprised at how close this paint comes to the original color of my dashboard. I first tested it on separate part which I had available, and am now ready to touch up my interior console and get rid of those unsightly chips.
Please keep in mind that applying adhesion promoter prior to painting, where possible, which helps bond paint to plastic should be among one of the first things you should do before spraying your automotive plastic parts.
Only issue I have is with the spray nozzle, it's terrible. They need to improve it with the type found on Rust-oleum, Duplicate-color and 3M Hi-strength spray adhesive.

Poor Spray Can Quality.

My truck's interior is 12D color code. GM calls my interior color graphite and this is definitely much lighter than my interior color. Don't be fooled by the Graphite title of this paint. My other vehicle is a med pewter (#922 color code) and this color is close to that. This makes the product a 3 star.
This is a 1 star because the spray paint can didn't work. I shook the can for a couple minutes and started to spray and paint instantly coated all my fingers. I pulled the nozzle, cleaned up the can and my fingers and began spraying again. Everything was fine for a couple sprays and then paint start blasting from the nozzle-to-can joint again. It dripped all over the part I was trying to paint and consequently screwed up the finish.
After cleaning again I determined that the can had zero tolerance for any inadvertent side loading when pressing the nozzle with your finger. I got one coat on the part successfully. I inverted the can, cleared the nozzle as per directions. As I was spraying the second coat, the nozzle started clogging. I took the nozzle off and cleaned it with acetone and was successfully able to get it spraying again. I did this 3 times to get through the second coat. The 3rd time I couldn't get it to unclog and finally punted the paint can across my yard.
Spray paint appears to be of a good quality, but useless if I can't get it out of the can. If ColorBond wants to charge $15 or more for a can of spray paint, please don't use the cheapest spray can imaginable to deliver your product.
Duplicolor makes an interior spray paint can that is half the cost of this, is the exact same color, and has a much better designed spray nozzle. (Great color, great coverage, great spray can, still wrong color for me) I am purchasing the SEM Products 15303 "Graphite" Color Coat that appears to be - in reality - the "GM Graphite" Color 12D.

Best interior paint in a can that I've used
Michael✓ Verified Purchase•April 29, 2017
This is pretty good stuff. The 324 was a very good (not perfect) match for a 2002 Mustang GT Premium with dark charcoal interior. While still not perfect, it was a much closer match than the SEM equivalent. People would not know the difference between a painted and a factory panel without you telling them.
Application: It sprays well, dries quick and is very durable compared to other interior paints that I have used, including SEM. The tip does tend to clog a bit but is not bad. I used a bit of lacquer thinner to clean off the tip and it continued to spray as if it was a fresh can. As for durability, I used it on a manual shift knob among other things. After almost 3 weeks, the shift knob has not cracked, peeled, or flaked. You be the judge.
Prep: I spent the better part of a day prepping the surfaces of the interior items. I didn't use an expensive prep spray. Dish soap, water, lacquer thinner, rubbing alcohol, and scuff pads (scotchbrite) are all you will need. I also used an adhesion promoter just prior to spraying the colorbond.
I achieved good results. I will likely buy this brand again if I need to paint interior pieces in the future.

Either a 5-star or a 1-star

It's a shame we have to provide a single rating in our reviews, as this product is either a 5-star or a 1-star depending on how successful you are in identifying your specific interior color. In my case I used the VIN tool linked to ColorBond's website to confirm the Ford color for for 2002 Explorer -- which is Medium Parchment. Unfortunately the ColorBond color (121) was several tones lighter than the factory color. Not a bad color at all, just not correct. It is possible that Ford has used Medium Parchment for more that one interior color over the years. In that case ColorBond should specify the model year(s) for each paint. For this reason I'd give the product a 1-star rating.
That being said, the product was easy to use and provided a very nice finish on the door panels I painted -- looking much like the factory finish. Based on application and finish I'd rate this product at 5-stars. I did clean the panels thoroughly with soap and water and the used rubbing alcohol to help ensure good adhesion. I used several light coats and had no problems with running or spotting. Just be certain to use the spray in a well-ventilated area. I was able to reassemble and install the door panels about two hours after beginning the painting process.
On balance this product is rated at 3-stars to reflect my experience. Hopefully you'll have better luck with identifying your correct color.

hard plastic trim on e28, great
Stu✓ Verified Purchase•January 5, 2017
As stated, used on hard plastic trim. Here was my prep:
- clean with Mr Clean Magic Erasure + water
- wiped down with rubbing alcohol
- air dry
- using Dupli-Color clear adhesion promoter primer, did 4 very light coats 3 minutes apart
- within 5 minutes, apply ColorBond in 5 mist coats, 8 minutes apart
- air dried
It was frustrating waiting 8 minutes between each mist coat, but it maintains the grain pattern perfectly. Do not heavy coat.
I have not used this on soft flexible surfaces and do not intend to. Those surfaces get replaced with proper new vinyl.
Other parts of the interior, I am replacing the cloth with "pearl beige vinyl" from ebay. Vinyl for boats so it's thick. This matches great with the "cream beige" from ColorBond. BMW 524Td 1985 Diesel with mechanical fuel injection.
