Tested this against dupli-color - color bond lost, at almost 3x the price!

I ran out of this and to finish the job, had to use Dupli-Color Vinyl And Fabric Coating because color bond wasn't available locally. The dupli-color cost less than $6 per can, and actually worked BETTER! It flowed better from the can and covered better. Then I noticed the color bond actually turned powdery on the leather and rubbed off! It worked great on vinyl but not so much on leather. Next time I wan't bother with the high price and waiting for shipping, and just use the dupli-color.
Works very well.

The paint worked well. Bonded to the plastic like a skin. No cracking or flaking. The shade was slightly darker, but I believe that is due to sun fade. Used it on 15 year old vehicle.
I was able to transform a Ford Class C motor home from Grey to Ford Lt Parchment to match new leather seating

I used color 337 Ford Lt Parchment on a newer motor home Class C that we upgraded all the seating throughout the camper with a very light Tan colored leather. But the cab was a dark grey all of it. After much taping so I would not over spray I proceeded. It goes on lightly per coat over darker color I may have even used more then I needed just to make sure I covered everything. Well it did a great job I used 7 can to do the whole cab right even the seat belts needed to be done and the stuff worked. It takes 3 to 4 light coats and though you can touch it in 10 min it really takes 24 to 72 hours to really get hard. It was a lot of work taping to prevent over spray. But it really did a great professional job. It drys to a mat finish and seems to level itself to a smooth even finish.
Five Stars

Absolutely turned out fantastic restoring the beige leather in my 650i!
hard plastic trim on e28, great

As stated, used on hard plastic trim. Here was my prep:
- clean with Mr Clean Magic Erasure + water
- wiped down with rubbing alcohol
- air dry
- using Dupli-Color clear adhesion promoter primer, did 4 very light coats 3 minutes apart
- within 5 minutes, apply ColorBond in 5 mist coats, 8 minutes apart
- air dried
It was frustrating waiting 8 minutes between each mist coat, but it maintains the grain pattern perfectly. Do not heavy coat.
I have not used this on soft flexible surfaces and do not intend to. Those surfaces get replaced with proper new vinyl.
Other parts of the interior, I am replacing the cloth with "pearl beige vinyl" from ebay. Vinyl for boats so it's thick. This matches great with the "cream beige" from ColorBond. BMW 524Td 1985 Diesel with mechanical fuel injection.
