Perfect for RV Living!

I travel a lot and wanted something that would be light, precise, and very functional.
This is it! Amazing precision from extruded aluminum. It has about .020 worth of play in tailstock side, but you can compensate my checking center.
The motor doesn't have a lot of grunt as it is direct drive, the head being the end of the AC Motor shaft. Yet, you just compensate again and you are fine. Weighs only 15 lbs, so it's pretty hard to complain. Very fair compromise.
The digital speed control is wonderful and works very well.
One of my concerns is I didn't have space for drill press, band saw, etc in my 5th wheel. Now worries! Go to PSI website and purchase the PenPal 2-jaw check/MT #1 drill chuck and you are set. I mark my blanks with a Sharpie and just hold a hacksaw to cut my blanks. Works fine.
I would highly recommend if weight or space is a concern.

Motor blew after 10 days. Everything else seems quality.

Item worked great for around 10 days. Easily able to turn blanks, Had some trouble roughing them to barrels. This item is really only capable of making pens. Which it did very well. Everything about the lathe seemed to be high quality. Unfortunately at the 10 day mark, the motor shorted. and it's now dead. Amazon's return process has been great so far. I'm definitely hooked on turning now but I'm going to opt for a tool with a little more power.
Perfect lathe for pen turning.

Great little lathe. Don't expect to turn large bowls on this unit. As it stands now, I would purchase this same lathe if it was to burn out for some reason. I'm a new pen turner and this lathe is one of the reasons that I have invested another $400 in pen turning supplies!! I'm addicted!!
My Jet Mini is too heavy and awkward to use ...
