this product is simple so theres not much to go wrong. I have mine on top of a wood burning stove and it humidifies the room well. During the first use it gives off a weird smell but it only smelt chemically for one use.

Does exactly what we need it to and what we bought it for. Yes, it rusts, just like all other cast iron products. Bought a trivet to keep it from rusting onto the wood stove. No problems!
