LOOK ELSEWHERE, BROKE AFTER 2 HOURS OF USE
GabriellaS✓ Verified Purchase•January 6, 2017
Bought this for my husband for some light wood working jobs to be done for the house. While cutting a 1/2" piece of wood, the bolt that secures the blade snapped right off causing the top of the bolt to go flying and the blade to wobble and fall out. He had been using the saw for less than 2 hours before it broke. We really wanted to like this saw but poor design and engineering has rendered it useless. Thankfully we opened it before the return cut off date and Amazon took this defective product back with no hassle. This does not seem to be an isolated incident or user error as others have had the SAME issue. We cannot recommend this product and I would suggest looking elsewhere for a saw. We have attached pictures to show where the bolt snapped.

Currently waiting on my refund. I liked this for simple, small cuts. But going into my second small project the nut that holds the blade on snapped in half and the blade shot out into the piece of wood I was cutting. It was not hard wood. It was a pretty soft piece of pine from a pallet, I had removed all nails from the wood. I've read that this has happened with multiple people so I think it's a product quality issue. Either way, as much as I liked the saw, I wouldn't buy another based on the fact I don't feel very safe using it anymore.

The saw arrived quickly (thanks Amazon) and appeared to be very well made. It also arrived just in time to get started on a deck project and making quick work of trimming about 50 - 5/4" x 1" pressure treated deck boards. Around 6 to 7 boards into the project, the blade came loose (after making sure the locking screw was set) and the blade came rolling out. Whoops, the locking screw had sheared off and the saw became totally useless. The job was finished after setting up my Makita sliding chop saw and deft use of a hand saw... I lost valuable time and the Rockwell is being returned for a refund. I'm steering clear of Rockwell products.
