Fits but stiff to operate

Pretty easy install. Old cable broke after 20 years on my 98 Chevy C1500.
My only issue is the release is much harder to pull than before. I am afraid the handle will come off. I also have to push the handle back in so the return spring is not strong enough to overcome the wire sticking in the sheath. Routing has no kinks but the wire is very long and has to have a large loop to fit.

Perfect fit on my 1997 Silverado C1500. I suggest giving the cable a shot of silicone lubricant before installing it to ensure smooth operation.
